No. It has been in place for Decades. No changes made under Palin.

No, it’s been around since the 70s.
To: skeptoid

It was big screen TVs and autos that were the big sellers following the check when we were there.
Fall starts in today. Most of Alaska is near refrigerator temperatures already. ;-)

Probably so.
The appliance store ads run pretty strong after that announcement. But then all the stores with big ticket items do.

No; Gov Jay Hammond in 1976, but Rep Oral Freeman was one of the originators.

Don’t buy any arilane ticket up here quite yet.
This is likely the **LAST** PFD to ever be paid.
We (here in Alaska) are looking at a State Income Tax, State Sales tax and damn near any other kind of tax you can imagine because the price of oil has tanked and the amount of oil in the pipeline has declined @ nearly 6%/year for the last decade.
Pretty quick, you won’t to rent a U-haul - everybody will be headed back Outside...just like in 1995/96.

This is likely the **LAST** PFD to ever be paid. I'll bet $20 paid to the Freepathon next year that Alaska has a 2016 dividend check.

Are the Browns (of Alaskan Bush People fame) eligible for these payments this year or has the court not yet decided their case?

(Ignore the GOP-e. Cruz to victory in 2016.)
To: CommerceComet
The requirements are rather simple but rigid.
To be eligible for a PFD, you must have been an Alaska resident for the entire calendar year preceding the date you apply for a dividend.
