Don’t Coronate Carly Fiorina Just Yet
NY Times ^ | 9/21/2015 | Charles M. Blow

The media has a new darling in the Republican presidential disaster pageant: Carly Fiorina.

She dominated, “dropped the mic,” “owned the stage” and of course she did it all while “standing in a pair of 3½-inch heels for three hours.”

This amount of drooling should come with a year’s supply of bibs.

I like debate chihuahuas though. Carly made a really good analogy between Iran and PP which may translate to stripping taxpayer money from PP. You need someone nipping at heels for that issue.

I can agree with certain things or the spirit of them regardless who said it, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to stake my caucus for that candidate when I disagree with their other issue stances.

Coronate is (sort of) a word, but it’s not the word the NYT supposes. I could just see it being used by Milton in a particularly Latinate mood.

These tweets look like they come from a High Schpol Class President, not someone who is serious about leading the most powerful nation on earth. Where is the gravitas? The statesmanship? God, it’s like watching TMZ.

You spelled school wrong. And failed the most basic rule about complaining about someone else's grammar or spelling...make sure your complaint is perfect!

Be that as it may this is the electorate that Trump has to attract. Use small words and keep the message simple. Sad but true.

No danger of that happening.

Fair and balanced. It’s a long time until the actual election so it’s sound advice for all of us.

You didn’t think the media would allow the first vagina in the White House to be Republican, did you?

“In the debate, Carly’s defense of life was passionate and convincing.”

So was Obama.

Election, singular. In California, where A-nold is the only Republican to win statewide since 1998 (Chuck Quackenbush reelected Insurance Commish). There’s probably no way any Republican was gonna win that Senate race in 2010.

I can’t quibble if someone goes after her on the issues but the HP nonsense and complaining that she lost in California? Pfft.

A failed business career and fewer core values than Mitt Romneycare.

Trump taught his kids never to use drugs or alcohol from a very young age. He did a good job raising good kids.

Point for Trump.

Don’t lose faith, guys - there are still a few of us around here who haven’t gone off of the deep end.

You know, I’ve gotten to the point around here where I feel like Kurt Russell’s character in Escape From L.A. - wandering around the remnants of a place I once recognized, occasuonally finding a sympathetic face but mostly having to dodge lunatics, crackpots, and gang leaders working under the iron hand of an insane drug lord.

Hopefully we’ll all still be around when Trump Fever breaks, and that in the meantime Trump bashing doesn’t become a zottable offense - because if I does then I’m dans le merde...

I’d weep for the Republic more if a woman was seriously considered for president who slept her way to the top by marrying AT&T executive Frank Fiorina at age 30, almost destroyed AT&T spinoff Lucent 10 years later, almost destroyed HP after that, and then helped re-elect Barbara Boxer in a landslide. This is a woman of zero accomplishment who couldn’t get hired as a cleaning lady in corporate America yet actually thinks she’s qualified to be president.

Pardon me, one other Republican not named Ah-nold has won in Cali since Quackenbush (and Sec of State Bill Jones who was also reelected in 1998, forgot about him), Steve Poizner was elected Insurance Commish in 2006 because he was running against that clown Cruz Bustamante.

Poizner went on to lose the primary for Governor to Meg Whitman, the chick who made Carly look like gold in comparison.
