Muslim group doesn't fault school or police for boy's arrest (How Nice!)

IRVING, Texas — One of the largest Muslim groups in Texas said Thursday that it does not fault police and school officials who handcuffed and suspended a 14-year-old Muslim boy after he brought a homemade clock to class that they mistook for a possible bomb.

Instead, Khalid Hamideh of the Islamic Association of North Texas blamed political leaders for espousing inflammatory anti-Muslim rhetoric and creating a "climate of fear."

"We're not pointing a finger at the school district or the police department," Hamideh said. "Under the current climate that exists in this country, you can't really blame them because when they see something like that, they have to react."

The association operates the mosque attended by the family of Ahmed Mohamed, the suburban Dallas student who became a sensation on social media after word spread about his clock and the way he was treated.

Ahmed was pulled from class Monday after he showed the device to a teacher. He was questioned by the principal and police, then handcuffed and taken to the police station.

The Muslim community is concerned that Ahmed was interrogated without a lawyer or his parents present and was led out in handcuffs, Hamideh said.

Irving Police Chief Larry Boyd has said department policy requires that handcuffs be used to protect officers and others.

Authorities declined to seek charges against the boy, saying there was no evidence he intended to cause alarm. They said he's free to retrieve his clock at the police station.

A police photo of the device shows a carrying case containing a circuit board and power supply wired to a digital display.

School district spokeswoman Lesley Weaver did not return a call for comment Thursday but previously said school administrators followed district policy, which allows staff to take action if a student has a "look-alike" weapon or engages in behaviors that...

Publicly patting themselves on the back for absolutely nothing. If this gaggle thinks that by making a lame statement like this that Texans will love them, then they're mistaken.

The Muslims don't blame the police but its still OUR fault " for espousing inflammatory anti-Muslim rhetoric and creating a "climate of fear." Now why would a majority of Americans (and surely not the PC politicians) have a feeling of uneasiness when it comes to Muslims. Remember 9/11? Remember the numerous s shootings, killings, bombings, etc. etc.?

Long past time to take the gloves off and get those who practice Islam (especially in the prisons where Muslims 'chaplains' now actively convert negro criminals to their religion of death) gathered up and moved out of North America.

Little Mohammed brings the “creation” to school in a briefcase, plugs it in, it starts making noises. How would you react?

Oh good grief, what a load of malarkey. It didn’t look like a clock. It did look suspicious, much more so than a ‘finger gun’ on an elementary school kid’s hand, or a pop-tart that vaguely resembled a gun. Why would the kid choose to build a clock in a briefcase, unless it was supposed to look like something else?

As far as the so-called anti-muslim inflammatory rhetoric claim goes, that’s more malarkey. Heck, it’s about time we started hearing some anti-muslim inflammatory words from this administration, but it isn’t going to happen.

Tagging him and his device as suspicious was the correct thing to do.

Consider this imposing, giant mosque, the Irving Islamic Center is not far from MacArthur High School. Being extra wary of muzzies in their midst is certainly prudent, to say the least!

Once I finally saw the “clock” i completely understood the school’s reaction. Some one went out of their way to make this look like an IED. Why do you need a briefcase for a digital clock?

The head muslim has invited the clock-kid to the White Hut to apologize to him. What about the kids who have worn U. S. flag tee shirts to school? We can't get this traitor out of the White Hut fast enough and slam the door in either Hitlery's or Sander's face!

It would appear that ‘papa’ got his new religion while in the slammer.

That's right and you're not alone in that analysis.

Cathie Adams, president of the conservative Texas Eagle Forum and former chairwoman of the Texas Republican Party, said Thursday that Ahmed's clock looked suspicious and that authorities were right to act.

She said the boy was "pushing the envelope" and provoking a response. "Was he testing the system? And why?"

Gee, I wonder if this kid would be getting an invitation to the White House if his last name had been “Murphy” or “DeAngelo” or “Shapiro”?

When is a clock not a clock?
Answer: when it is the trigger of a bomb.
All this kid was missing from his “clock” was explosive, a blasting cap, and a nine volt battery.

And in a couple of months when a similar thing happens and the school staff is afraid to react, a school blows up and the screams for gun control rise immediately, as well as the accusations that Christians’ and Conservatives’ intolerance is what made it happen. The Federal Government will move to more tightly control schools and ensure that Islam is taught as if the teachers were teaching in a mosque.

This little terrorist-in-waiting was instructed by his Isis-defending lawyer father to ‘test the waters’ at school.

“How would you react?”

I can honestly tell you that if my white/blonde/blue eyed daughter brought the same thing to school... she would have been detained and the school would have flipped. I understand many FReepers did science experiments when they were kids and think the school over reacted; however, we live in different times now. That being said, I wish the first period teacher that he supposedly showed it to.. took the device and told him to pick it up after school.

I thought we could excerpt by selecting 300 words, which I did.

This posting was emasculated.

This Mohammedan pulsed the system, and the whole affair is now (if not from the beginning) supported and propagandized by the pro-islamoterrorist CAIR.

The fifth-column media's reported "homemade clock" was simply a crudely disassembled commercial large LED-display clock similar to the Acurite Intelli-time Model 13003 the small green circuit board similar to PCB layout (Figure 2) in ElecCircuit's Cheap Digital time clock with alarm circuit by LM8560.

The parts were put into a small pencil box shaped like a briefcase, with the power transformer laying on its side. The battery clip on the left is for a 9V battery backup of the time when the power cord is unplugged.

This is not a science project, but a quick and dirty effort to make some electronic-looking thing with wires showing to creat suspicion and concern and some kind of reaction, which then would be reported and denounced, desensitizing school leaders and weakening anti-terrorist watchfulness. According to fifth-column media reports, the kid plugged it in during English class, a bizarre move that would alert any responsible teacher.

This kid should be interrogated to get some real answers. But first, perhaps he needs to be focused.

I do have questions on the arrest

1. If it was thought to be a bomb, why was the school not evacuated

2. If it was thought to be a bomb, why was there not a bomb squad called in?

3. If it was thought to be a bomb, why was the “bomb” but in an office with the boy while the school waited for police to arrive?

4. If it was thought to be a bomb, why did the police take it with them back to the station?

This is not procedure for when a bomb is suspected at all.

Typically the bomb squad is called in, there is an evacuation and people are not allowed back into the building until there is an all clear.

So why wasn’t the school evacuated and the bomb squad called in right away?

You’ll have to ask the school.
