For a less positive look, there 's "Strange Young Girls," which is haunting. Very interesting. I had never heard the song before you brought it to my attention with your post.
"The Strip" mentioned in the lyrics is probably the Sunset Strip. For readers not familiar with the Southland, the Sunset Strip is a stretch of Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles that winds along the south side of the Hollywood Hills just east of Beverly Hills. I once lived just off the Strip.
Interestingly, the song came out before "12:30."

I became a conservative after reading Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged in the early 70's but I still love the hippie songs of the 60s.
