As a "f---ing Jew" by blood, I have to agree with her that the pols seemed to answer a question about the US by referring to Israel. I had the same thought as I was hearing those candidate responses. Israel's welfare is indeed a shorthand people use to measure whether US foreign policy is holding to one measure of Western civilization. Another would be how committed we are to either saving or offing "f---ing" unborn babies.

If we're deviating from either one of those measures, it does tend to be a sign something is radically wrong in DC, as it is now. But to make sense, the dots need to be connected.
