This is enough. If they don’t like being filmed, try to pass a constitutional law making it illegal. So far, the courts have said citizens have the people have the right of free speech to film gov. employees as they do their jobs.

All this bullying from crooked cops needs a prison sentence attached to it. It’s the only way to stop the police bullies acting out among the honorable police officers who are committed to the public and our constitutional rights. These are the police officers who don’t care about videos because they are people who do the right thing.

Most of the cops I have run into have treated me with the utmost professionalism (mostly traffic stops).

I see an uptick in cop violence having two causes: genuinely bad people on the force, and lousy orders and training from above that make cops more likely to violate people’s rights.

Pretty sure the LAPD continues to refuse to release the names of the officers involved in that shooting, and exactly none were charged with a crime (nor publicly disciplined in any manner...) I’ve only seen one picture of the house that is the backstop for that shooting, and bet the homeowners are very very glad that they were not home when the LAPD opened fire.

He shouldn’t been a lookie lou.

Besides, he’s probably done some illegal stuff before. It just finally bit him.

Prayers for the cops that risk their lives everyday to keep us safe.

"As a SWAT team was trying to apprehend Ben Ledford, 62, for firing a machine gun across the street..."

I'd be a little skeptical about that part of the story, too. People who can afford $10k-$15K legal machine guns rarely live in houses with one-car garages or shoot their neighbor's dog.

OK, I realize that cell phones these days look so much like a Kalashnikov that those cops couldn't take a chance that it wasn't an AK that the neighbor was pointing at them. So it's quite logical that they had to shoot him first and then go see what he had in his hand before he bled out and got their camo suits and hi-tops all wet and messy.

Makes sense to me, but then my psychiatrist says I'm not making progress as fast as I should be.

they shouldn't even make uniforms that size... XL maybe XXL but after that, if ya can't fit into the uniform, you don't get paid till you can or you are fired

I am stunned by what you wrote. No subject for your sentence about being motivated to gun cops down in the streets? Are you implying you will do this or that you support such action? Unbelievable.

With cops being targeted and ambushed, do you think they won’t be on edge? Somebody sticks his arm out the door holding a metal object. I suppose you would prefer cops take a bullet just in case its not a real threat to their safety.

All the comments on this thread make me think I’ve wandered into a Black Lives Matter chat room.

It had, like Dorner’s truck, 4 wheels and a steering wheel. This was a close enough match for them.

I live a few blocks from this nut. I will be skeptical of any thing you post. He had returned from his Dr with end stage cancer. The neighbors think it was a modified or broken AK 47 appearing rifle. The dog was his. The gas was the house with the holes. The weapon is at the lab for a report. The cops were late but everyone in the area are happy with it all.

That is one article everyone should read. It puts a lot of things into perspective. This guy should be prosecuted, but he is a hero to cops. Another sad comment on the country.

You can’t read can you. I said “bad apples”. Plus these incidents are gifts for the propaganda machines of the left, the communist far left and the Muslims coming here from the ME to recruit violent black activists.

I have been advocating self reform of how police departments do business here for years.

Police departments are violent trigger happy and trained to be that way. This is an institutional problem. They, the Police are running out of friends. We the communities that hire and pay for Police deserve better. We need Police and Police need us. The Police need to remember they are us.

“Police departments are violent trigger happy and trained to be that way.”

That is blatantly false. Cops are trained to use as much force as necessary to control a situation. Showing up with more than they need is a simple way to get perps to comply. No police force wants to be equally matched with the criminals. That makes no sense and risks having a situation get out of control, which means somebody is more likely to get hurt.

As for not being able to read, I believe I lifted much of your comment word for word.

It always amazes me when people bring up “bad apples” as if the police force were drawn from some group of perfect people who do not exist. Cops are human, they make mistakes. Considering there are thousands of police, sheriffs, etc. on the job 24/7, 365, the number of incidents of questionable use of force are remarkably small.

Ambushed? How many? When?

I guess I missed this...

We have a tough, dangerous job.
Our brother cop did not get up that morning with the goal of becoming involved in an officer-involved shooting.
The dog needn’t be large to have a lethal bite —good shoot.
If you’re REALLY not up to no good you won’t mind me taking a look, right?
What, are you a hippy..?
Still mad about that ticket, 10 years ago..?
We’re just doing our jobs.
Police SOP’s are well-established —the police violated the rights of no one.
The key thing is for us to go home safely at the end of the shift.
Next time you have an emergency, just call the ACLU.
We have to make split second decisions —you’re being unfair.
Don’t paint us all with the same broad brush. I don’t think you understand just how highly we are trained.
We’re the thin blue line, what, ya want anarchy..?
The investigation showed the police followed department procedure.
You must just be a cop hater.
Ever been a cop? Then you’re unqualified to judge us —walk a mile in our moccasins.
It’s cops vs. the bad guys, and if you’re not for us, you’re AGAINST us.
You’re asking about something that’s the subject of an ongoing investigation —no comment.
We can’t comment on topics of ongoing investigations.

They talk too much.
