A man who held a cellphone out of his garage door to see what was happening during a police standoff in Rancho Cordova was shot and injured by Sacramento sheriff's deputies.

In his own garage across the street with one of those cell phones that look SOOO much like a gun. This is the definition of "trigger happy". And nothing will become of it.
” Sanchez’s home was also searched.”
Jeezus. Did they shoot his dog, too?
agreed. Charge the police with assault and attempted murder. Likely can’t convict, but get them fired maybe, bankrupt the city to make a point. Police are too trigger happy and someone needs to reign them in.
Sanchez needs to lawyer up and go for the whole enchilada
Those high capacity assault phones are just too dangerous. We need stricter laws on those.
Really.
If it was an iphone I can live with it.
(kidding)
Maybe they were afraid he was taking a video of what they were doing.
I’m in a mixed marriage...iPhone and Android...I can’t say a word.
Gotta love that pic....two Mexican wimmins delivering the morning newspaper - who bofem happened to be the spitting image of cop-killer Dorner. I guess trying to “porch it” looked overly threatening.
It could have been any citizen walking into the situation, since the cops feel they are above the citizens, they were not shooting at “one of their own”, so this will be considered a good shooting. My point here is things will only get worse when the cops don’t consider the public “one of their own” and by the same token normal citizens should consider cops “one of their own” since they too are just regular citizens, hired to do a job.
One of the four basic rules of gun safety is, Be sure of your target. Breaking one of the four rules is indisputable evidence of negligence These officers should be glad they don’t work for me or for a sheriff in any county where the voters know about proper gun safety. They would be fired, or the sheriff would.
So if they are not negligent, or grossly negligent, then they knew it was a cell phone and shot the man because of it.
Their jobs are safe in California, though.
If cops don’t reform themselves bad apples
Will be motivated to gun cops down in the streets. It has already started and will only get worse.
The police have considered the general public to be their enemies for a number of years. No longer is it considered innocent until proven guilty, but a criminal that hasn’t been caught yet.
He probably did not have a dog to shoot. That is why they shot him, or he could have rode a motorcycle.
It looks like the cop with the rifle is sporting wood.
