I think you summed up the situation perfectly. Senator McConnell is correct that President Obama will definitely veto anything that defunds PP, and Republicans do not have the votes to override a veto.
HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean Republicans should simply fold. If Obama wants to fight for hacking babies up, then let him cast his veto! Republicans should do everything possible, including nuking the filibuster, to show that they do not tolerate infanticide. It’s called taking a stand for principle!
