Megan Barry has been elected mayor in Nashville’s runoff election.

Barry called the night historic.

“This one is going down in the history books,” she said. “This one is all about the fact that today, you went to the polls and you elected the first woman mayor.”

As Barry’s victory speech went on, the crowd began chanting her name.

“Tomorrow our real work begins,” she said.

How the hell did she get elected in Nashville?

I thought all of Tennessee was under sharia law now.

What? Transforming America into a third-world Socialist cesspool?

I thought that project was almost complete.

As a former Nashvillian, an election of this vile marxist, Megan Barry, would have been unthinkable back in the 50s and early 60s. The downfall of a once-Southern city started when Metro government was established. Atheistic liberals from the north have moved in over the decades and ruined a city that used to be known as the “Buckle of the Bible Belt”. There was a time when Nashville streets were virtually empty on Sunday mornings because nearly everyone was in church. The suburbs (particularly Sumner and Williamson counties) are still nice but Davidson County has become a leftwing third-world cesspool.

De Blasio type?

De Blasio in a skirt, although that New York mayor likely wears them since he seems sexually ambiguous. This new Nashville mayor is just as bad -- if not worse -- than De Blasio. If you can stand it, read this article from the commie rag, The Nation. Be ready for decontamination after wallowing in its marxism. One highlight (lowlight?) from that piece is this:

And her campaign certainly hit plenty of progressive themes. She hailed diversity, declared that the police must treat everyone equally, highlighted the need to respect immigrants, embraced sustainability, and celebrated public transportation.

To reiterate, it saddens me that my onetime home and a place that shaped me during my formative years in a positive way has descended into a typical progressive northern sewer. Last time I was in Nashville, Southern accents were a rarity.

“As Barry’s victory speech went on, the crowd began chanting her name.”

After that, then they started chanting “KILL WHITEY! KILL WHITEY” “WHITE LIVES DON’T MATTER” and a host of many other politically correct chants while they jumped around and banged the butts of their spears on the concrete sidewalk.

Well there goes Nashville down the same route as other liberal cities run by Democrats have gone. It’s historic alright. Historically bad for the city and it’s inhabitants.

It's an interesting coincidence that the new mayor chickette, Megan Barry, shares the same last name of another anti-white, anti-American onetime mayor Marion Barry, the drug-addled guy who guided Washington, DC into further depravity. Around the time I lived there, ol' Marion spent some time in Nashville at Fisk University and was a part of the riots in town of that era.

While it's not certain that Megan Barry is a druggie like her namesake, she certainly appears to be a food addict. A chubby witch she surely is.

When I lived there, nearly everyone spoke English with a pleasant Southern accent. There was a section of town, North Nashville, where the blacks lived but even there, they spoke some form of English. Sadly, the onetime "Buckle of the Bible Belt" has been overrun with foreigners. One section of the county, out around Nolansville Road, is now 70% wetback with the crime rates to match. The downtown area used to have churches every few blocks, even the main shopping street was called Church Street. Soon, it will be named Mosque Street at the rate it's going.

Megan performed (officiated at) a same-sex wedding in the days before the election. - Her rival in the mayor’s race (Fox) was a conservative. - Megan has BIG “plans” for Nashville. - Glad we don’t live there any more. - We do get some Nashville TV stations out here; and I dread like the mischief seeing her mug and hearing her voice on TV news every time I walk in the room where husband is watching news.

Nashville / Davidson County has been a democratic stronghold for years. The local elections are theoretically non-partisan, but we’ve never had a Republican mayor in my lifetime. The white flight to the surrounding counties during the forced busing of the 70s is the root of Nashville’s left leanings. The city is made up of inner city / low income, young transplants from the east and west coasts and the rust belt who are revitalizing downtown and midtown housing, old money many with Vanderbilt university ties, and the suburban communities ringing the city but still inside the county that make up Metropolitan Nashville. All of those but the outer communities are heavily liberal, Even the suburban communities have turned more democratic in recent years as the neighborhoods built in the 50s, 60s and 70s age, the original owners die or move to assisted living and immigrants and young families buying flipped houses move in.

The race was between David Fox, a Jewish moderate democratic who ran on being a fiscal conservative and Megan Barry who promises to spend our way to prosperity. They are both social liberals. She ran a mud slinging campaign associating Fox with the Tea Party and Republicans, and apparently it worked.

The nightly news from the Nashville TV stations will be filled with murders and mayhem. Even though Bev Briley, the first Metro mayor, was a 'RAT, he did support law enforcement and the city was pretty much crime free, with most of it confined to North Nashville, during my years there.

David Fox is a fiscal conservative. He’s as socially liberal as Megan Barry.
