Those who don’t regularly follow politics might not be familiar with George P. Bush. But they’ve surely heard of his father, uncle and grandfather.

The son of former Florida governor and 2016 White House hopeful Jeb Bush, George P. Bush will deliver the keynote speech at the Republican Party of Riverside County’s annual Liberty Dinner on Oct. 15. Having been elected Texas land commissioner in 2014, George P. Bush, 39, is the grandson of America’s 41st president, George H.W. Bush, and the nephew of the 43rd president, George W. Bush.

“George P. Bush is a rising star in the Republican Party. It is widely anticipated that he will run for governor of Texas in the future,” said county GOP Chairman and Menifee Mayor Scott Mann.

But Cruz not showing up for his job is just fine, right?

Unless the GOP is successful in their goal of amnesty and open borders, this Bush has no future outside of Texas.

I’m not even sure why Texas needs a land commissioner.

Yes, I was just thinking that probably the less often he shows up for work, the better.

It’s good that the Houston Chronicle is digging into P’s work attendance records. It will be interesting to see if they UNSPIKE their story.

Especially if Jorge is falsifying his timesheets like Huma Abedin.

It’s good that “P” ain’t “Natural Born” or we’d have another dynasty derelict to deal with in a few years.
Mom wasn’t a citizen at time of birth, Sorry P.

England has Phillip, Charles, William and his recent boy, name unknown to me, and we have George HW, George, Yeb and now, another George: a prince to the 4th power.

A prince shows up for work when he feels like it.

"It is widely anticipated that he will run for governor of Texas in the future"

Are Texans going to allow Bush to become governor?

I’m not even sure why Texas needs a land commissioner.

It's a classic "sinecure" for doing other things while maintaining political position. One of the reasons we refuse to vote for any Bushes.

I’m not even sure why Texas needs a land commissioner.

Somebody has to head up the agency (the General Land Office of the State of Texas) that manages state lands. If they didn't call the office "Land Commissioner" they would still have the same office, with the same duties, but merely have another title/label for it.

Now, whether George P. Bush should be serving in that capacity is another matter. One thing he certainly should do is remove his near-life size picture from the GLO website. That's one scary picture.

Another Bush, how many does that make now?

I have an idea, they should buy and island and call it the Bush Gardens, and live happily ever after...

Maybe you should send your pic to Governor Abbott. I have started sending him a weekly email asking if his paycheck is being withheld with no response. Time for the Gov to step up to the plate.
