WAPO: TRUMP, SESSIONS TO THWART GOP ON OBAMA TPP
breitbart ^ | 11 Sep 2015 | BREITBART NEWS

Posted on 09/11/2015 5:27:02 PM PDT by BlackFemaleArmyColonel

So you think Donald Trump’s demagoguery on immigration has created problems for the other GOP candidates? Well, another very ripe opportunity for Trump to make his GOP rivals even more miserable may be lurking right around the corner, and it could expose the same sort of schism between GOP elites and GOP voters that Trump’s forays into immigration policy have. I’m talking about the massive global trade deal called the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Some time in the next six months — in late 2015 or in early 2016 — the participating nations may finally reach a deal on the TPP. That may well come just when the GOP primaries are heating up. Virtually all of the major GOP presidential candidates, including Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), all support the TPP, as do Republican Congressional leaders. But, in a little noticed move a few days ago, Trump signaled that he might be headed in a very different direction on the TPP soon enough. After his terrific and wonderful rally outside the Capitol the other day, Trump met with Senator Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), and both men enthusiastically recounted that they had had a good conversation about immigration and …. trade. Said Trump: “The meeting was great!” Sessions is a leading opponent of the TPP. He has warned that the TPP could harm American workers and allow China to join the deal later without the approval of the U.S. Congress; he has also said that it won’t do anything to counter Chinese currency manipulation and could facilitate the flow of “foreign workers” into the United States.

Cruz has to tow the line for his corporate paymasters. His trade and immigration policies reflect it.

I believe I read somewhere that his wife, Heidi, said that Ted thinks he’s always right about things. Not sure of the quote, but something similar. Maybe that’s what I see in Ted - yes, Trump is a braggart and not very humble. Ted tries to act humble, but I see just as much ego in him as I do Trump - he believes he has all the answers and is the smartest guy ever. He might be in some ways, but, he sure screwed up on the Corker bill and wouldn’t listen to his aides about Mcconnell or Sessions. He’s still my pick for VP or AG.

Open borders and idiotic free trade policies go hand in hand. We export jobs and industry while importing more illiterate uneducated third world peasants....
......Jobs out||||||| Illiterate third worlders in

A more destructive economic policy could not be concocted.
This is why we need the Federal Reserve bank continually goosing the housing and stock markets with a flood of fiat money to give the illusion of real prosperity. The Federale Government borrowing (then spending) trillions from China, Japan, the Federal Reserve bank is essential to keep the economy somewhat bubbling

This could explain why some Cruz supporters attack trump so viciously.

Yes that's quite interesting.

Interesting list. Woodforest is the bank with all the branches in WalMarts.

In March of 2013, Woodforest National Bank and Western Union reached a deal to provide money transferring services globally at Woodforest National Bank Locations

"She (Mrs. Heidi Cruz)was also a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations (see her bio at Claremont McKenna College), a position that expired prior to her husband’s attack on the globalist organization. In October, 2011, Ted Cruz reportedly characterized the CFR as “a pernicious nest of snakes” that is “working to undermine our sovereignty.” He previously called the CFR “a pit of vipers” during a speech delivered on October 13, 2011, to a Republican women’s group in Sugarland, Texas."

Trump shows us what these candidates are answering to, what they are really made of, who they are carrying water for...

Trump, on the other hand, doesn't carry any water for anyone except himself, he is answering what we want him to answer, and he's showing us what he is made of...

And all the little nay sayers are saying: Trump is going down.

LMAO...Trump is so smart, you just shake your head and wonder what the hell just happened!!!

He essentially said he was fooled (lied to), but at the time I think he was tacking back to get closer to the fleet.

Ted Cruz surprisingly had a very large donor in the 30 million dollar range. Donating to a Ted Cruz super pac. My opinion is this donor had certain demands and TPP was one of them....

I may be way off but ......

If only Trump would stake out some conservative positions.

I still like Cruz, but his position on TPP gives me pause.

Not sure yet. I like both Cruz and Trump. But unlike many others, I’m sitting back to watch it all unfold. Time tells everything, we have much left to go

I don't it is a coincidence that Trump talks about going after hedge fund operators.

Hedge-Fund Magnate Robert Mercer Emerges as a Generous Backer of Cruz

There's one rich money man, however, who embraces Cruz's anti-government bent: Secretive hedge-fund guru Robert Mercer of Renaissance Technologies. Mercer has reportedly donated at least $31 million to help elect Cruz, which is more than Cruz has raised from other sources during his entire political career.

Yeah, he claims that he was snookered by Mitch McConnell, despite his staff pleading with him to not do it.

Although I support Cruz, I have trouble buying his explanation and think that he actually had some sort of deal with certain campaign donors to support TPA/TPP alongside Ryan, but then something happened behind the scenes and he suddenly reversed himself.
