The Wisconsin governor who's known for taking on unions in his home state is holding the event Monday afternoon at XTreme Manufacturing.
He said he'll discuss his plan to transfer power from union bosses to taxpayers. He said the strategy includes preventing the government from deducting union dues from federal employees' paychecks.
Las Vegas is home to powerful labor groups, including the Culinary Union that represents some 55,000 casino workers.

Yeah, it’s just wrong to expect the government to stay the hell out of our business.
People on FR often refer to Walker as a “one trick pony”. I guess he is just going back to the only thing he knows.
it sure would :). talk about a breath of fresh, free air in the belly of the beast!
Mr. 3% isn’t going anywhere but down. He thinks way too slow.
You don't see any connection between piss-poor employment rates and government support of socialist labor unions?
Really?
Somebody ought to tell Walker that no one cares...There are far, far more important things going on in the world that need the immediate attention of a President...
In my experience it's rare that a union breaks the contract...Unions pretty much police their own ranks...
No.
Really?
Really.
People forget the SEIU loves illegal aliens.
Maybe Walker’s prescription for dismantling unions as a cure all isn’t the best approach. Wisconsin has lost its middle class at a faster rate than any other state since he became governor.
If he had paid more attention to Wisconsin instead of campaigning, maybe his approval rating at home wouldn’t be 39%.
Don't like the blue collar unions eh??? But you are fine with the auto dealer unions, doctor and lawyer unions, the the petroleum retailer unions and so on???
Some employees step out of bounds from time to time, but most abuse of union contracts is by managers, either through ignorance of the contract or arrogance that they think they can get away with it.
I pay for my memberships, services, goods, etc. out of my personal wallet. The state shouldn’t have anything to do with that.
Still don’t believe anything from Las Vegas papers.
Why??? This is not a GOPe forum...
Certainly is...
Some folks prefer to set up auto deductions as a convenience. For instance, most people prefer to deposit their paychecks through direct deposit, but there are still folks who say they want to hold their paycheck in their hands. It is their paycheck and they should have that choice.
Wondering if the article was correct is what prompted my post to begin with. Doesn’t surprise me that Vegas papers are not reliable.
yes, that’s a threat too.....but the unfunded mandates for union thug retirements and healthcare are going to destroy us too.
I don’t disagree with any of what you said necessarily. With your over view, you will not have egg on your face. You understand the risks it seems.
My problem is with the 80% of supporters who are blind and willfully ignorant.
so what you’re saying is, A: you’re ignorant how most union shops work and B: you have no friggin clue why government unions should not exist.
Lemme help you out here, you need it: in government unions, the UNION GOONS negotiate AGAINST THE TAX PAYER....and the tax payer has NO ADVOCATE at the table. It’s a one way negotiation. It is corruption personified by DEFINITION.
Damn how can you call yourself conservative and be so blind.
conservativejoy is one of the many FAUX conservatives on FR now. She doesn’t even understand the most basic of conservative ideas.
Thank you for outing yourself as a marxist. So WTF do you mean by the "auto dealer unions" and the "doctor unions" and the "lawyer unions" and the "petro retailer unions?" WTF do you mean? If you're gonna be a marxist on this forum, man up and answer.
