A Rolling Meadows woman has accused Office Depot of discriminating against her Roman Catholic faith after employees told her running copies of an anti-abortion prayer violated company policy.
Karen Denning, a spokeswoman for Office Depot, said company policy prohibits "the copying of any type of material that advocates any form of racial or religious discrimination or the persecution of certain groups of people. It also prohibits copying any type of copyrighted material."
"The flier contained material that advocates the persecution of people who support abortion rights," Denning said.

That’s insane. The only thing that shouldn’t be Xeroxed is copyrighted material. I don’t like Office Depot anyway. But Staples is far away.
In before the “she-broke-the-rules” people in 5, 4, 3...
If it was an Islamic tract urging muslims to kill all the infidels, Jews and Christians I bet they’d get a discount........................
She’s not an employee, just a customer......................
"So that is why we discriminate against people and religious groups, so that we do not allow others to persecute them for their religious beliefs -- that's our job" -- Karen Denning, a spokeswoman for Office Depot.
The left, which owns the megaphone of society, is tightening down on the marginalisation of Christians. We will be forced from the public marketplace and public square of ideas long before The Rapture. The Blessed Hope, thankfully, will protect us from even worse to come.
Oh, even BETTER...
Sadly, you’re very probably right.
Office Depot is censoring the content of the products reproduced on their machines?
Bake the damn cake
Sign the damn marriage license
No copying for you!
I think this sucks, but hate to play devil’s advocate. I’m sure many on this board supported the “if the gays don’t like the policy of the Christian bakers, they could take their business elsewhere.” Or, “an owner should be allowed to run his/her business as they see fit.” If we’re going to be consistent, the woman should just say, “I’m sorry you feel this way. I’ll take my business elsewhere.” Just my $.02.
It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.
Yeah, but going public with the story is well within her God granted first amendment rights, so good for her. Another case of revealing the enemy within.
Office Depot has a copy service like Kinkos? I thought they just sold the machines.
I suppose that argument would have worked if the left hadn't fined the Bakery $130,000. Now that the left is enforcing their rules, it's time to make them subject to their own rules.
So company policy prohibits “the copying of any type of material that advocates any form of racial or religious discrimination”
but
company policy does not prohibit the act of religious discrimination.
Got it.
The mentality of these people is so warped.
It is a pretty safe bet that a pro-abortion prayer would not be perceived as advocating the persecution of those who value the lives of unborn children.
The policy places Office Depot employees in the job of arbitrary political censor. Under such a system, you can be sure that the censorship is not applied equally from store to store or employee to employee.
If just one pro abortion flier was copied at any time at any Office Depot, the plaintiff will win.
BTW, I wonder if the Nation of Islam or Blacklivesmatte,r which both advocate hatred and murder of whites, could get their fliers printed at Office Depot. Actually, I don't wonder about that. Of course they can. Office Depot would be called racist if they didn't. And Al & Jesse along with the entire Democrat Congress, CNN, ABC, NBC etc would be demanding retribution. Some Office Depots would be burned down. Office Depot stocks would plummet as the store is boycotted. No active imagination needed at all to predict the future if Office Depot was even accused of racism.
