Here is, word for word, in context, what Donald Trump said Tuesday about admitting Muslim refugees from the Middle East:
Bill O'Reilly: You know thousands will come to the United States. Now do you object to migrants who are getting out of the Middle East and North Africa coming to the USA?
Trump: I hate the concept of it but on a humanitarian basis with what's happening you have to.
Here is, word for word in context, what Donald Trump said on Wednesday about admitting Muslim refugees from the Middle East:
Hannity: Should we allow any of them [Muslim Middle Eastern refugees] into this country?
Trump: Look, from a humanitarian standpoint I'd love to help but we have our own problems, we have so many problems we have to solve.
On Tuesday Trump said we had to admit them for humanitarian reasons, on Wednesday Trump said we didn't have to admit them for humanitarian reasons.
As I've said before, on the campaign trail it is easy to misspeak. But this is a very fundamental issue and it doesn't look like a slip of the tongue. He clearly said "you have to" in answer to a question about admitting thousands of them. If Trump were to admit large numbers of Muslims to America, we would be importing the intolerant version of Islam that is practiced in Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan, complete with Sharia law, clitorectomies, and honor killings. And then, of course, there would be the terrorism.
I've voiced my concern about Donald Trump before because he has no history of conservatism; in fact, his history is the direct opposite.

I agree, most only look at headlines lately.
Then they run with it.
Trump's response was a bit vague being that he used the word "it" and he left the second part of the sentence hanging....
So what is the reasonable thing to do when the question asked of Trump was about "migrants coming"?
To figure that Trump was answering the question about "migrants coming".
So let's try that.
I hate the concept of it(people coming) but on a humanitarian basis with what's happening you have to (have people coming).
But we also know that Trump has a nasty habit of thinking while he's speaking, so failing to appreciate Trump's acknowledgment that immigration is destroying Europe or that ISIS terrorists may be included is dishonest.
So says you.
Muslims are allowed to eat ham if it helps their hateful cause.
Trump was very ambiguous on BOR and I figured he was not interested in bringing a bunch of muzzies into the US. He’s running for President he doesn’t want to look like a hater.
Bet Jeff sessions put in a call to set Trump straight.
Trump acknowledged the concept but then said "but".
To miss that Trump said that is "dishonest".
Christian style compassion gets blurted, then reality sets in - I can live with that.
post 6 is correct
Not much here, IMO. Just another “gotcha” attempt.
Not at all, but there's no convincing the anti-Trump derangement bots, who put more effort into parsing out every word from Trump than they do their own candidates.
Seems Trump’s future press spokesperson, Ann Coulter, may have set him straight.
Nor do I. Both statements alluded to possibilities, only a biased mind would find an absolute in either statement.
Wow here comes the name calling.
I've both defended and criticized my top two candidates Cruz and Trump.
And I respect many Trump supporters.
You on the other hand are a dumbass.
The good news is, people won’t label Trump a Compassionate Conservative, a term that made me cringe with Bush 43 blurted it out.
After all, everyone knows that Conservatives are just a bunch of meanies and a lot of People don’t think of Trump as being Conservative anyway.
I don’t see Trump as a Conservative, he just has many ideas that Conservatives support and it appears that Americans of other Political persuasions tend to support as well. They may be Reagan Democrats, the Silent Majority and just People that are just fed up watching America crumble.
That may be enough to get him Elected. Quite the Campaign Season we have here, but there is still a long way to go.
Note your post 18. You were the one to call Trump supporters or people on the other side of this "bots." Whining now about "name calling" just makes you sound like a thin-skinned sissy.
“Compassionate Conservatism” is neither.
I actually Cringed when Bush said it. He bought into the Liberal Premise and made it part of his Campaign. Sickening.
