Here is, word for word, in context, what Donald Trump said Tuesday about admitting Muslim refugees from the Middle East:
Bill O'Reilly: You know thousands will come to the United States. Now do you object to migrants who are getting out of the Middle East and North Africa coming to the USA?
Trump: I hate the concept of it but on a humanitarian basis with what's happening you have to.
Here is, word for word in context, what Donald Trump said on Wednesday about admitting Muslim refugees from the Middle East:
Hannity: Should we allow any of them [Muslim Middle Eastern refugees] into this country?
Trump: Look, from a humanitarian standpoint I'd love to help but we have our own problems, we have so many problems we have to solve.
On Tuesday Trump said we had to admit them for humanitarian reasons, on Wednesday Trump said we didn't have to admit them for humanitarian reasons.
As I've said before, on the campaign trail it is easy to misspeak. But this is a very fundamental issue and it doesn't look like a slip of the tongue. He clearly said "you have to" in answer to a question about admitting thousands of them. If Trump were to admit large numbers of Muslims to America, we would be importing the intolerant version of Islam that is practiced in Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan, complete with Sharia law, clitorectomies, and honor killings. And then, of course, there would be the terrorism.
I've voiced my concern about Donald Trump before because he has no history of conservatism; in fact, his history is the direct opposite.

Trump is quick to get on the right side of an issue, while other candidates remain tone deaf
And I don’t know if that’s what he meant. A week before he criticized Obama for not admitting CHRISTIAN refugees. Is Trump thinking of them, while Hannity is thinking of the Muslims? I don’t know.
I am glad he came around. I hope he actually means it.
Those people are from cultures alien and hostile our nation and our culture. They bring with them nothing the Nation or its lawful Citizens and Residents need. Instead, the represent a threat to the safety of public and burden to the taxpayer.
His initial statement is what happens when a candidate allows himself to be led by the interviewer.
So many were drawn to Trump in the first place because he refused to be bullied by the media. He needs to get back to that policy and stick to it.
Trump needs to carry around the position paper on immigration Sen. Sessions gave him and read from it. Trump doesn’t do all that well in staking out consistent positions on the fly.
In before the....
“He didn’t flip-flop. Shut up. You’re stupid.
What? Are you some Bush bot? blah, blah blah....”
But the anti-Trump crowd will call him a flip flopper. All the candidates change their minds on issues at one time of another. Its called being flexible and looking at additional information on a given subject. None of believe the same things we used to believe when we were younger - at least I hope not.
Maybe he perused FR and decided a firm stance was the way to go instead of “perhaps”
I wish him well but Trump is going to find this political thing a lot harder than buying real estate and constructing buildings.
Yes, I think the difference that he meant was Christian vs. Muslim, as he has talked about the west not trying to save the Christians being persecuted.
He said And I Saw it, “you got to do something” he never said “take them in”
Trump is a quick learner. He sees Europe doesn’t know if these men are Al Queda, Isis, Boka Harim etc.
My opinion is if the rich Arab states ain’t doing anything to help, taking in refuges, neither is it our business either.
I don’t see a flip flop. This is what i read he said in his full statement originally.
None of believe the same things we used to believe when we were younger - at least I hope not.

Younger, sure. But these flips come in a matter of days - even hours.
Look at his walking back his remarks on Carly Fiorina as we speak for example.
His mouth is what will ultimately be his downfall.
RE: I dont see a flip flop. This is what i read he said in his full statement originally.
There were two statements he made, one to Bill O’Reilly and another one (Later) to Hannity. Which one are you referring to?
Some of us were correct to point out Trump's initial mistake and the bots amongst us called us liars for doing so.
We were correct, and now Trump has gone from being wrong to being right on the issue.
That’s what I was thinking. What was the exact question? Did it specify Muslims, or just ask about refugees in general?
But we have so many problems of our own. We have border problems that are big league that I exposed. I think if I didnt expose them, I dont think youd be talking about them right now. I mean, its become a very big subject of debate. And its not so much debate.
People now realize I was right when I made that initial statement, and by the way, took a lot of heat for about a two week period, until people realized what was going on. But we have our own problems. We have so many problems to solve. Our country is broken. Our we owe now you know Ive been saying 18 trillion, we now owe $19 trillion. Its going to go up very rapidly from this point forward. You know that 18 stayed there for a long time. But now if you look at the numbers and the balance sheets, its going to go up very rapidly. Were at $19 trillion. Theres only so much we can do. We have to fix our own country.
Now, Europe is handling it. Germany has been very generous so far, which is very surprising to me, to be honest with you. But theres a huge problem, and we should help as much as possible, but we do have to fix our own country.
