Donald Trump unloads on ‘OK doctor’ Ben Carson: ‘Who is he to question my faith?’
The Washington Times ^ | September 10, 2015 | David Sherfinski

“If you look at his past, which I’ve done, he wasn’t a big man of faith. All of a sudden he’s become this man of faith,” Mr. Trump said of Mr. Carson, a Seventh-Day Adventist. “And he was heavy into the world of abortion, and he was a doctor, and take a look at the hospitals where he worked. He was a doctor. Check out the past and see.”

As a presumed 'devout' Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA), would a President Carson refuse to work on the sabbath (Saturday)? Also, SDA followers have never been included in the 'evangelical Christian' movement. Indeed, many SDAs are quasi-pacifistic in their theology. The media have dropped the ball on this aspect of the campaign.

They both believe they are Christians. I have my own thoughts on this but will keep them to myself. Now, we are having a roll in the mud over God. Yikes!!

But now Dr. Carson is being baptized into the American political process.

He’ll catch on and realize it’s best not to throw stones at the StoneThrower but rather to tell us why to vote for himself, at least as long as he lives in the same glass house as does Trump and all the others.

Jindal’s piling on now too.

The GOPe must have found some focus group data that supports attacking Trump’s religion in order to lower his popularity with Evangelicals.

We’ll see, but I doubt it will work.

I agree with Trump. Carson would seem a bit arrogant to question Trump’s faith. Faith is between man and God. Actions are between a candidate and the voters.

Not only quetioning Trump’s faith, but preening about his own “humility”.

The game plan is to push Carson as being without flaw and above Trump and get Trump looking weak. The when Trump leaves, pull out all the stoppers on Carson and spill his dirt. It’s the way the media has operated with the uniparty for the past two elections.

I read that Carson’s colleagues at his hospital claimed he was not good at getting along with others; was not a part of the team or a good team player in neurosurgery.

If Carson thinks Trump is not Christian enough, I wonder if he thinks Obama is a Christian. Bet he does.

Look up Carson and abortion, dead babies, and all. He said he used them, said it wasn't his concern where they came from, how paid, etc. This was a couple of weeks ago.

Shame on him or anyone question Trump or anyone's religion. Carson deserves the beating coming from that line of attack. Disgusting. Otherwise we get into whose religion is best, who is whatever. Yes, very bad and wrong.

Being a Christian is never a done and finished thing-—it is a constant search for Truth. And everyone of us will make mistakes, trip and fall, and take the wrong path-—hopefully, for only a little while. We can’t know the Truth—God is incomprehensible and we are so limited in our experiences.

Truth is always elusive and intelligent, brilliant people have been arguing the meaning of God’s Word for millennia. Humility is essential in all Christians, including us. That we can know the “Truth”-—no, we can’t, that is why it is called “Faith”.

We all should be willing to wrestle with each other in the public square and even in the mud for God/Truth. The silence of true Christians for 50 years has been deafening and is why PC is so rampant and truth is banned from the ears of all our children for most of their childhood so they grow up ignorant and devoid of Wisdom (the understanding of Good and Evil).

Look at Ireland, a so-called Christian nation-—Children so ignorant they grew up and actually threw out God and Truth and Reason (Western Civilization ) for sodomy “rights’ (satanic, pagan, Eastern, islam irrational moral-relativism ideology).

It won’t with me. For decades before my mom died, she never attended church. She hated being in cars. I kinda think it was from being born in the horse/buggy/wagon days. She told us she loved going to town with her dad in a wagon. It would make her physically ill riding in a car. She was a Christian example to all of us. She loved sacred harp singing and sang, “Going Home” for a few years before her death. We went to many all day singings when we were young. Those people loved to sing. There are not many singers left. Some of the very best Christians lead by example not by “getting in your face.”

OK doctor? Whatever you think of his presidential qualifications, the man was the director of pediatric neurosurgery at a hospital consistently ranking as one of the nation's best. If he's just an "OK" doctor, then Trump is a substandard businessman.

Carson stood at the top of his profession. Trump has plenty of billionaires ahead of him.

SDA’s have quite a few unorthodox beliefs. I don’t really consider them part of mainstream Christianity, but I wouldn’t go so far as to put them with the cults.

A heretical sect though? I think that would be fair to say.

Talented brain surgeons, heart surgeons, etc., are notoriously full of themselves. They generally do not have the best bedside manners, and you shouldn’t expect them to.

They are highly trained, and when the chips are down, they have to be 100% sure of what they are doing and project that. Brain surgery requires a good team with a great captain.

I have yet to meet a highly skilled surgeon who was a gentle lamb. If they were operating on me, I would want them to be.

I won’t be voting for Dr. Carson, but his bedside manner and personality sound typical of his type.

If you don’t want people to question your beliefs, don’t talk about them. Just be quiet, eat your “little cracker,” refuse to ask God for forgiveness for anything, and keep pretending that is the entirety of Christianity.

You don’t really have to look all the way to Ireland to see that.

Right. I agree. I deal with these people in my business and in my family. I love them. I adore them. One saved my life from super aggressive breast cancer (with the big help of my Savior). I have no human excuse to be alive today. My doctor has no excuse not to have killed me with chemo, etc. We need them in their exceptional work.

It takes an ego the size of the grand canyon to cut into a brain and go to work. I have a nephew who does it. I love every cell in his body; he is so wonderful. I would not want him to be president. It is risky beyond anything Trump would understand...it is life and death in their hands. They can feel God - at least the ones I know and the ones who are not soul dead. We disparately need people like this.

But their work does not qualify them to run the whole Nation because they are totally obsessed with what they do and are uninformed of everything else but their kids (sometimes), which is good to me as a ten year cancer survivor. They are single minded, which is absolutely necessary for what they do in cutting edge surgery. I can say, without knowing him, I love Ben Carson even though I don’t want him to be president when the nation is such a mess.

What you said is true. I know it. I’ve lived it. Fortunately and unfortunately.
