Shepard Smith, Fox News host, cut into his own press conference coverage of the release of Kentucky clerk Kim Davis from jail to rail against her, as well as those who supported her denial of wedding certificates to same-sex couples, saying such is simply a "religious play" that has no business in government service. He also compared Kim Davis supporters to those who oppose Sharia law, characterizing them as one and the same when it comes to ideology.
"They set this up as a religious play again," Smith said, "This is the same crowd that says, 'We don't want Sharia law,' don't let them tell us what to do, keep their religion out of our lives and out of our government.' Well, here we go again."
An obviously frustrated Smith then described the progression of Davis's case as a mish-mash of confusing legal pursuits. "When this started, this lawyer said he needed an accommodation for a woman who wanted one," Smith said. "She said she didn't want her name on a license for "gay" people. Now they've come up with one, they've let her out of jail ... But it's not what they want." Rather, he said, "they" now want to pursue new claims against gay marriage. "This is what they want, what you're hearing now, and this [is] what they're going to get: stirred up argument and a couple of days in the news cycle, and they're going to be able to make these claims."

Smith's comments come on the heels of a recent report from Out, a gay travel and fashion magazine, that reported this: "[Smith's] sexual orientation and centrist ideology are some of Fox News' worst kept secrets," the nonprofit Accuracy in Media found...

All I can say is that I hope I’m wrong about the guy. I hope to have to have my objections fed to me. I want to be wrong.
Even worse, he’s an Ole Miss Black Bear.
Norm, I think there will be times when he’ll let us down. There will be times when we have some great victories.
With regard to that, when hasn’t that been the norm since Reagan.
Do you think he’ll stand by and watch the lending industry melt down? I don’t.
This guy is a lot more savvy than our last Republican president was.
No I don’t. I worry that he doesn’t actually understand the problem. Not because hes dumb because he isn’t. But because he lacks perspective. He’s smart enough to get it. But he and we see two very different worlds. Trump is by nature, top down. It works for him in business and is an advantage in some political things.
Now consider that his top and ours are different beasts. You and I see Immigration as invasion. He shares that. Thus no issue.
He sees extraconstitutional edicts/laws as done deals. Sometimes. Not others. This is going to become an issue. Whether he clues in or not will be the difference between Trump the liberal wannabee and Trump the man who grows rapidly into being worthy of his office.
Time will tell which.
Bet sheps lining has been ripped on more than one occasion.
If we don’t watch Fox News, who do we watch?
Pretty Boy is a clear liberal.
Because ailes is no conservative.
Not me. I haven't watched Fox News in years.
UP-TWINKLES TO YOU!!! ;)
There is a twisted saying that applies to the strained relationship between Shepard Smith, Fox News and Sharia: the enemy (Islam) of my enemy (Christianity) is my friend.
Sharia and Islam however, are not forces controllable by the likes of Smith and Fox. Should the day arrive when Islam has achieved power over our nation, Smith, et al will discover to their horror that in the eyes of their new masters that they are utterly contemptible, wholly disposable infidel “worms.” Rather than riding high Smith will bow his neck and crawl on his knees before his masters or meet a fate worse than he could ever imagine.
Norm, if he were the Leftist that his detractors see him to be, why would he be sending signals that Cruz and he see things so much alike?
Just today he praised Cruz’ comments on the Iran deal.
It’s my take that a Trump/Cruz ticket would result in him being schooled to at the very least understand the thinking behind our arguments. Trump doesn’t seem to be against listening and learning. I take that as a very positive sign.
Notice his tweaked Syrian Refugee stance.
He listens, and he adapts. Isn’t that what we have been askign for, someone who does just that?

Who the hell watches Fox News anymore?
I used to think Alex Jones was nuts.............but everything he said came true. Now I use Infowars among others instead of the Commie Liberal Fox News. There simple are no MSM outlets left that aren’t establishment propaganda.
Because deep down he has a self loathing.
Yes, you are right. These are the equivalent of the 8-10% of mudslimes that self identify with Islamacism. They are the collaborators and enablers of the ‘soldiers of islime’.
Who are the queer Quislings? Libs who enjoy social disruption for the pure pleasure of destroying the hated normal order? Men who hanker after teen boys after a lifetime of being ‘straight’? Trendy shallow fools that want to be seen as ‘with it’ and ‘cool’? These people do need to be identified and fought. A political and cultural counterrevolution is the only thing that will preserve our country.
The older Shep gets, the more he resembles that woman who had surgery to look like a cat.
Well because of the edict I can’t argue my position fully. but I will say that he has a history I do not trust for documented reasons and that battlefield conversions are often less than sincere once the shells stop falling.
So hopefully I will be wrong and eat crow if/when he wins and governs as we all hope he will. I will be more than happy to do so.
And for the record, and not targeted to you personally, just as a general statement, I don’t care if Palin/Cruz have a different view on him/this situation than I do. They have their concerns/beliefs and I have mine. I have and will continue to support 99% of their positions.
But I’m no purist ;)
Or....
A LOOFA!!!!! ;)
DAMMIT!
