Todays vote has now been delayed and the House GOP caucus will meet at 4 p.m. to find a way forward because John Boehner once again miscalculated the degree of support he had in his own caucus
.Members of the conservative House Freedom Caucus are demanding that the Obama administration send side deals between Iran and international nuclear inspectors to Congress as part of the Iran deal now under consideration. Opponents of the deal have argued that the clock on congressional consideration of the deal has not even begun until these side deals are submitted.
Rep. Peter Roskam (R-Ill.) has offered a resolution that would prevent a vote on the Iran deal until all of the documents of the international agreement including the deals between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are provided to Congress for review.
Update: The new plan, allegedly:
If Im reading that correctly, theyre essentially going to turn McCarthys point into a matter of mere symbolism i.e. yes, Obama didnt comply with the Corker bill by submitting all elements of the agreement, but were going to go ahead and vote on it anyway. McCarthys strategy is designed, I thought, to stop this process in its tracks before the GOPs resolution dies in the Senate. Instead its being treated as a minor hiccup, something that can be footnoted as the original plan to vote this week is carried out.

Wrong. The Corker Bill gave the President absolute authority to make this agreement, it can only be voted down since it is already law. If the Senate does nothing the bill stands, if they vote it down then the President vetoes their refusal and it remains law because there are not enough votes to overturn the veto. Aren't you glad a democrat did not beat McConnell? </s>
This one does.
That's one clause in the Corker bill.
Absent passing a law to void the Iran deal, it comes into full force 60 days after submission.
And you can thank the TREASONOUS Republican Senators for that.
ALL OF THEM, except Tom Cotton, of course.
Boehner is headed to the trashheap of history
You need to run for an office. You understand this stuff. :)
