Since they’re playing a game, blind them with the laser pointers, like what sometimes happens over airports. If there is a response, THEN unleash the REAL weapons.
We have an operational weaponized laser....use it.
I have several Iranian-heritage American friends, and one of the things they’ve said is that irrespective of the Islamic politics, there is a cultural underpinning of Iranian society that is ultra competitive and has a hard time not ‘winning’. They said anything less than ‘best’ is not acceptable to the Iranian cultural mindset.
As I’ve thought about this, it makes some sense in the context of what we have seen and continue to see out of Iran. It also underscores why negotiating with them, without taking an extremely hard line, is folly. IMHO.
Negotiating with them is futile. Elimination of their potential to do harm is the best move for our nation. Turn their air force into home made Sopwith Camels, their Navy into jon boats, their army into a chaotic group of paranoid persons more scared of us than they are their chain of command. Hit & destroy every single piece of infrastructure that could ever be turned into use for weapons manufacturing. Do this and never, ever, no matter what lift so much as a finger in aid afterward.
