A federal circuit court judge, David L. Bunning, ordered the Kentucky County Clerk, Kim Davis, to be thrown in jail for refusing to abide by the rulings of the Supreme Court to issue marriage license to gay couples. Kim Davis, a few months ago, refused to issue licenses based on her religious beliefs and filed a motion to the supreme court.
She was sued by some gay couples for this reason and this eventually led to her being thrown in jail.
The judge declined to fine Davis because he said outside sources could easily fund and pay those fines. She was handed over to custody of the U.S. Marshals.

Either the judge is out of touch with modern times, or he is spouting this sanctimonious anachronism to dress up what he is doing in acceptable language. Sort of like the Wolf putting on Little Red Riding Hood’s clothes and pretending to pick flowers.
My tagline, sadly, is more true with every passing day.
With no exceptions.
That's why Barack Obama was impeached and imprisoned 6 years ago.

so this judge is saying the voters are in contempt of his judicial fiats because they do not agree with him.
This is about a recreational sex BEHAVIOR.
it is not an immutable genetic trait, behavior, or outwardly visible.
Is this judge making homosexual conduct mandatory?
Obama isn't. Neither Clinton is. Oh, I guess he meant every "Christian" public official.
Her attorneys will be filing a writ of Habeas Corpus any day now. Show cause and authority for detaining her - and “Because I said so” ain’t a good enough excuse. (At least it didn’t used to be...)

grenades in toddlers’ faces. Should they be subject to the “rule of law” too?
Wrong color....
Dear Judge Bunning:
Eff you - nasty letter follows...
except for a Judge apparently...
So Sanctuary cities are going to be stormed by cops against the locals when?
The people passed marriage between a man and a woman and Judges broke all those laws to no consequences.
187 in California is the law of the state and nobody makes people in that state follow that law.
selective enforcement seems a good defense too.
mayors of sanctuary cities are elected officials
mayors of sanctuary cities disobey the law without penalty
elected officials disobey the law without penalty.
Tell that subject to the law fiction to Hillary, Lois Lerner, John Koskinen, and the Mayor of San Francisco.
The modern translation seems to mean “everyone is subject to the royal decrees of the judiciary.”
RE: My original question regards why she is in jail and 0 is not?
The only answer I can think of is this — because no one in power is willing to help her.
No PROMINENT person ( not Trump, Not Kasich, not Fiorina, no Republicans in Congress except Ted Cruz, no Kentucky legislator ), is willing to speak up on her behalf.
Her case in fact is similar to the one in California. After the citizens of California voted FOR Proposition 8 ( which recognizes ONLY marriages between man and woman ), the then, mayor of San Francisco, Gavin Newsom, OPENLY VIOLATED THE law by issuing marriage licenses to gay couples.
RESULT: He is now elevated to Lt. Governor of California. Kim Davis sits in jail without bail ( Heck even the serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer was given bail ).
Then why is Obama allowed to ignore out immigration laws?
This judge ordered her to violate her religion (or choose between it and working for the state in this capacity), and she refused. That is classic contempt.
There is no definite time limit, although the legal principle is that a judge must cease incarceration when it is clear that incarceration will not produce compliance. That is a battle of wills. The judge sees the law as superior, Davis sees her religion as superior.
This is typical judicial behavior - they are arrogant bullies, using "the law" as some sort of be-all, end-all.
Kim Davis always has the “conscientious objector” option of giving up her job. Why wouldn’t she do that?
It’s not even about that.
The real goal is evident in how it’s been used -
criminalization of Christianity.
