Second Review Says Classified Information Was in Hillary Clinton’s Email
The New York Times ^ | September 7, 2015 | MICHAEL S. SCHMIDT

Posted on 09/07/2015 7:17:34 PM PDT by WonkyTonky

WASHINGTON — A special intelligence review of two emails that Hillary Rodham Clinton received as secretary of state on her personal account — including one about North Korea’s nuclear weapons program — has endorsed a finding by the inspector general for the intelligence agencies that the emails contained highly classified information when Mrs. Clinton received them, senior intelligence officials said.

Mrs. Clinton’s presidential campaign and the State Department disputed the inspector general’s finding last month and questioned whether the emails, which are being released to the public, had been overclassified by an arbitrary process. But the special review — by the Central Intelligence Agency and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency — concluded that the emails were “Top Secret,” the highest classification of government intelligence, when they were sent to Mrs. Clinton in 2009 and 2011.

On Monday, the Clinton campaign disagreed with the conclusion of the intelligence review and noted that agencies within the government often have different views of what should be considered classified.

“Our hope remains that these releases continue without being hampered by bureaucratic infighting among the intelligence community, and that the releases continue to be as inclusive and transparent as possible,” said Nick Merrill, a campaign spokesman.

John Kirby, the State Department spokesman, echoed Mr. Merrill.

“Classification is rarely a black and white question, and it is common for the State Department to engage internally and with our interagency partners to arrive at the appropriate decision,” he said in a statement. “Very often both the State Department and the intelligence community acquire information on the same matter through separate channels. Thus, there can be two or more separate reports and not all of them based on classified means. At this time, any conclusion about the classification of the documents in question would be premature.”

My understanding about classified material is the State Department does not have its own intelligence wing to come up with classified material. It is the CIA or NSA or the like that come up with our government's classified material and the State Department is NOT allowed to change its classification or its rating as top secret, etc. Her people are really trying to cover for her here, it was classified when she got it and she was neglectful in how she received it, stored it, etc.

And you can bet your butt the Russians and the Chinese and probably the Iranians intercepted and read all of these emails.

Sigh. Hillary for prison!

I hope so. Do you think this might be the beginning of the end for her?

Second review?

This is going to be one of those typical Democrat deals where they keep doing reviews and doing reviews of the reviews until one of the reviews states that there was no classified material on her server, or that there was classified material on her server, but it was classified material that Hillary didn't know was classified, or some such.

Then the reviews will end, and the MSM will declare this to be a settled issue and old news.

The CIA looks at it again and says it’s Top Secret.

The Clinton campaign’s response is, “What the heck would the CIA know about classified information?”

Would somebody.....anybody......arrest this nasty old thief and traitor?

She’s going to give a press conference while she’s stroking a dead cat, telling everyone about what a great ballerina she was back in the 1800s.

Make the bad woman go away!

So where's the Grand jury? Where's the indictment? Where's the necessary handcuffs? It's high time to do this.

So did she knowingly have classified emails on her private server (against the law) or was she just so incompetent that she couldn’t tell the information - which the CIA determined needed Top Secret clearance- deserved even the lowest level of classified status?

And how does the experience she touts as her main selling point (well, 2nd selling point behind her xx chromosomes) jibe with her incompetence in not being able to determine high level secrets should be classified?

Correct - she does not have the authority to downgrade or remove the classification - only the originating source who developed that information has that ability.

Where are Clinton’s emails from two weeks prior to 09-11-2012 until two weeks after 09-11-2012. I’d also like to see her “yogi” and Chelsea’s wedding cake and dress emails from that time period.

I agree. She knew classified material when she saw it and because, I think, she had staffers stripping off the classified markings on the emails before she was sent them is not going to get her off the hook. Just possessing the top secret satellite stuff alone on her private server is going to get her in hot water.

At this time, any conclusion about the classification of the documents in question would be premature.

So, two separate reviews by experts is not conclusive.

Note: they are now prepping that next line of defense. They will now claim State came by this information independently, not using classified sources or intelligence, so that very same clear cut classified information wasn't actually classified.

Classic Clintons. Every new piece of information simply results in a new excuse, one which of course requires investigation. Delay, obfuscate, and deny. We've seen this play before.

Well, the alternative to that is what her campaign and sympathetic media are spewing about this - that it was not marked classified and she had no way of knowing. But, it would seem to me that anyone capable of serving as SoS, or qualified to become President, for that matter, ought to know. So, if that is her excuse, then I think the GOP has to do the “3am in the White House with the phone ringing ad.”

Something like “It’s three am in the White House and the red phone is ringing. Do you really want someone who didn’t know top secret information when she saw it answering that call?”
