TRUMP: US SHOULD ‘HELP AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE,’ WITH REFUGEE CRISIS, ‘POSSIBLY’ LET SOME IN
Breitbart ^ | 5 SEPT 2015 | IAN HANCHETT

Posted on 09/07/2015 12:37:22 PM PDT by South40

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stated that while “There’s only so much we can do. We have to fix our own country” the US should “help as much as possible” with the European refugee crisis and “possibly” let some refugees into the US on Friday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

Trump was asked about the European refugee crisis and, “Should we be letting some of those people into this country?”

He answered, “So horrible on a humanitarian basis when you see that. It’s like incredible what’s going on. But, you know, we have so many problems. And the answer is possibly yes, Cokie, possibly yes.

The people who voted for Obama wanted change too. He was going to “work with the other side”, “improve race relations” and be the most “transparent administration ever”...

When you invest in people who have no history of doing what they say they’re going to do, expect to be disappointed.

I love how people think a person should say this or that - or they get kicked to the curb. That’s a form of the speech police - telling others what they should or shouldn’t say. There was nothing wrong with they way Trump answered and most know it - it just gives them something else to bash him for - and golly gee - we are going to all vote for Cruz because of this. I don’t think so.

That should be policy. Back someone that lets muslimsd in and you gotta house them personally. It is afterall the supporters of any such candidate that will be empowering their presence./

I’ve always been undecided and was never on Trump’s bandwagon. I just liked the fact that he was shaking up the GOPe.

Exactly. It became apparent after Cruz jumped into the sack with Amnesty Ryan to enable Obamatrade that there were no rock solid conservative candidates this POTUS cycle. We need someone to break up the beltway cartel. If it’s Trump, so be it.

Every day something new, something that has to be excused, explained away rationalized or unwanted attention to be distracted by attacking the messenger.

I don't hate Trump, I hate willful self-deception and reckless wishful thinking. Either Trump speaks his mind regardless of the politically correct consequences or he is trimming for media consumption. Which is the real Donald Trump?

The truth is both are the real Donald Trump, and we have no idea who the.real Donald Trump will be from day-to-day. One day he's going to let in refugees and the next day he's going to send them all packing. One day he's for a partial term abortion and the next day he's not but he still wants to fund Planned Parenthood. One day he's a Democrat another day he's a Republican.

Ad hoc!

Donald Trump operates out of ego, whatever strikes his fancy at the moment. This is the real indictment of not being a true conservative, the indictment is that Donald Trump will run the country out of his own ego. Today all the faithful are holding on in desperation to the believe the Donald Trump will deal with immigration. But will he do so tomorrow?

I think voting for a man who has spent only 2 years in the Senate and has no business background is a huge mistake. Someone who pretends to be an outsider, but has worked his entire career in government in one form or another.

Maybe, just maybe when Trump says possibly he was referring to the Christians that Obama refuses refuge status too.

Did he say that?

“possibly...”

“Possibly” is far distant from “probably” or “yes”.
In fact, it is closer to “no”.

I do also. But you have so far refused to believe that Donald Trump's candidacy is a great benefit to the possible elevation of Ted Cruz and other conservative Americans I care about.

I don't know how you came to that conclusion as I have never said anything of the sort. I have said that I agree that Trump's bringing the topic of immigration to the fore is a good thing. I also like that he has damaged Bush, Rubio and others. I do not, however, support a liberal for the Republican nomination; I can't believe any real conservative would.

I and others have tried to tell you and other anti-Trump posters like you who support Cruz to let Ted Cruz worry about his relationship with DT...and to avoid more needless bloodshed here on FR...NEEDLESS and counter-productive carnage.

Thanks for your advice but no thanks. My opposition to Trump is based on ideology. He is a liberal. I am a conservative and this is a conservative forum. I'll post the truth about him as long as this forum's owner permits.

Please...if you support Ted Cruz...let Cruz take the lead regarding Trump and we can follow TC's lead. Not necessary to disavow Jesus Christ in order to do so.

Again, no thanks. I'll stand for conservative ideology every time. Have I asked anyone to disavow Jesus Christ? If you believe so please point to where.

Exactly. It’s up to him (JimRob) to tell who to “get lost”, not you.

Were Cruz were to say anything like this I would be 100% against it. Look at this thread, your fellow Trump supporters are defending it.

Cruz supports Syrian refugees.

- - - - - - -

"Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and Ranking Member of the Judiciary Committee Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), were all present at the hearing and unanimously expressed support for opening up the U.S. to more Syrian Refugees."

And

"After opening remarks from Sen. Durbin in which the Chairman said among other things that the U.S. had a “a moral obligation to assist Syrian Refugees,” Sen. Ted Cruz, who cited his father’s flight from Cuba, stated the crisis "demands the attention of the United States" and "threatens the stability of our key allies." The economy and stability of Jordan, Turkey, and most notably Lebanon are threatened by a massive influx of Syrian refugees. About a quarter of Lebanon’s population are refugees. Therefore, as noted by Senator Cruz and Senator Durbin at the hearing, in addition to the moral obligations we face as a result of the refugee crisis, we also have a strategic interest in finding a way to ameliorate the situation for some Syrian refugees and hopefully encourage other nations to do the same. Trump on Muslim Refugees...

“Talk about it”....”work out something”....”Maybe_______fill in the blank”.....”Just going to see what happens”....”It depends”....

Not real comforting is it....certainly he’s not willing to say ‘how’ he’s going to do this...which probably is smart if he actually knows himself.....I think he’ll simply not say because if he wins he’ll “depend” on those in WAshington to feed him....unfortuanately that means the Muslim’s in the National Security.

So he really doesn’t have a plan.
