For all the talk about Donald Trump allegedly driving minorities away from the Republican Party, could he actually bring people in?
A SurveyUSA poll released Friday shows in a hypothetical matchup with Hillary Clinton, Trump is ahead 45% to 40%.
But digging into the racial breakdown of the respondents is revealing. For example, the poll finds 25% of black respondents say they would vote for Trump over Clinton.
How impressive is that?

"This is why Trump is not touching social issues and focusing on economics, IMO. If he can peel off a few points from all Dem constituents across the board he will win in a landslide."
Agreed. But landslide in electoral votes means he has to get these popular votes in those 12 states: MI, PA, WI, IN, IA, OH, FL, NC, CO, VA, NM, NV. I believe he has a fair shot at most of these, though CO and VA are unclear to me so far.
Reagan in 1980 is a classic case of a strategic 50 state strategy and even though he only got 50.8% of the votes, with 49.2% voting for the other two, they were all votes in the right places. And he performed so well in the first term that the number changed to 58.8% in 1984.
My suggestion is to attack the heart of the enemy, Doolittle raid on LA, SF, Chicago, and NYC, and court the blue collar and white collar lower and middle class. This will draw in (D)ummycrat defensive advertising in the expensive big markets which they never have to defend, draining their war chest and leaving their flank wide open to be kicked hard. Of course the RNC would need to get onboard at some point.
>> "The bulk of the black ink budget and red ink borrowing is completely on autopilot. so what do you propose that *he* propose to cut?Bureaucracy, Dem patronage jobs to include do-nothing foundations, think tanks, NGOs subsisting on fat government contracts, plum patronage projects to Unions, grants for all kinds of "-studies" majors and colossal white-elephand science projects, The Dept. of Education, The Dept. of Energy, much foreign aid (*keep giving* the aid to Israel), anti-"bullying" efforts, ...and ALL pensions for Congress and the Senate. Serving in the Legislature, like welfare, was never meant to be a career choice.
Oh, and drastically cut the EPA: and require Congress to write and vote on regulations that implement the laws, themselves, rather than delegating the task to unelected, anonymous, unaccountable, career bureaucrats."
I'm so with you on all of that and more ( shutter the EPA, EDU and BATF and consolidate all the other alphabet agencies and cut the manpower by 50% ).
But all I meant in that post you replied to is that NONE of this will matter a wit if the Amnesty cannot be blocked, and a moratorium on naturalizations put in effect, with quotas against Mexico/Central/South America/Asia and in favor of perhaps western and eastern Europe. At least for a while. The Mexican bias needs to be undone.
Or else it makes no difference because they will be back with bulletproof super-majorities in 10 and 20 years. Then whatever haircuts we gave FedGov will not matter. FedGov will become "Cousin It" !
On this forum, the appellation "magnificent bastard" is the kiss of death.
Just ask Turd Blossom.
This shrinking the govt' meme has been mis-characterized for a long time. Reagan was not an anarchist (they are actually full on against any sort of govt).
Reagan was for a less intrusive govt in key areas of American society and was against the welfare state. Reagan was not against building roads, infrastructure or national defense spending and he was for some social welfare spending but against other kinds that enforced laziness and dissolution of families, etc.
UR wrong about Eisenhower he was the one who sent illegals home go read UR history ..he sent bounty hunter out to catch them and after word got out they was being shipped by bus, train and ship back to Mexico most deported on there own. They caught them by thousands and took them deep into Mexico not just to border. Just saying he was big on illegals does not make it true ...
The roofing project took place over 10 years ago. I had returned from living overseas for 15 years. I was, like the vast majority of Americans at the time, uninformed about the immigration issue.
I had taken bids from various contractors, all American owned and operated companies. I selected a roofing company that had been in business since 1947. It was a family run operation. It was only when the roofing crew turned up along with a US supervisor that I found out it was an all-Mexican crew. The US supervisor disappeared and the crew went to work,
When I had some questions about the work, I could only ask in my distantly learned college Spanish about the work. I learned that none of them had roofing experience before coming to the US and that they all came from a small village in Mexico. I didn't ask or care whether they were legal or not.
I was upset about some aspects of the work and called the US supervisor who came to my house. He corrected the problems. I expressed my unhappiness with the fact that I was unable to communicate with the workers. I asked him why he didn't have Americans on the project. He said that in order to survive, he hired the Mexicans. It was the only way he could compete. He said almost all of the roofing companies were doing the same thing. (He was correct about that in NoVA.)
This started my interest in the immigration issue. I met someone from a grassroots immigration organization at CPAC and got involved. I now head that organization. I took the time and made the effort to learn all about the immigration issue. After 8 years, I consider myself an expert on the subject. I came to the conclusion long ago that immigration is the defining issue of our time. It is the most important challenge we face. Everything else pales in comparison.
I have moved to SC. I make a conscious effort to hire only American firms. My trash removal and landscaping services are all American, mostly black. The trash removal service is called American Pride. There is no job Americans won't do. If people take some time, they can find local networks of businesses that only use American citizens and/or legal immigrants.
I realize that the numbers of illegal aliens are so great that it is hard to get any services that don't have illegal aliens. It is like finding something that isn't made in China.
I’m not shocked. I know several blacks who lament their past support for obama. obama has made a bunch of conservative blacks and Trump is collecting their support. Trumps appeal is beyond party, it’s an American thing, not a Republican thing.
Blacks love money. That’s all.
One in four, apparently...
I hate to say it but the reason Blacks are discriminated these days is because they are poor/lower income. In America money is power. Whites smoke pot in the same % as blacks but cops don’t patrol suburbia with as much gusto to bust people as they patrol the inner cities. Also, blacks used to do work that now goes to cheaper illegal alien labor. Yes, it sucks that this was the kind of work blacks used to get a lot of (day laborer, waiter, busboy, etc) but it allowed many blacks make it out of poverty or to support an education for their kids to get out of poverty (poor whites as well). But now that kind of labor is taken from blacks by low wage illegal aliens. By stopping illegal alien labor, black salaries will go up because they will fill in for the work now going to illegals.
