Nope. Exactly wrong, Jeb. States no more have the "right" to redefine marriage than they do to redefine the law of gravity. Marriage is marriage and it doesn't change, regardless of what ANY government jurisdiction says about it. Likewise, carrots would remain a vegetable whether the federal government OR Rhode Island government decided they should now be classified as "meat" and ordered grocery stores in Warwick, RI to sell carrots in the meat section of the store. Simple biological facts don't change and no government has the power to make them change.

If some court rules that up is down and down is up, and you go jump off an eighty-foot cliff, the rocks at the bottom won’t care in the least about how wicked some judge was, or how stupid you were to listen to them.

Seems like marriage just did.... however, gravity remains unchanged, far as I know.
