When she accepted the job she was not required to act in ways that violated her religious or moral standards.

She is not refusing to perform the duties that were conditions of her original employment.

Why should she now be forced to violate her conscience or lose her job and be imprisioned because the government has changed the conditions of her employment in order to satisfy the wishes of militant homosexuals?

Exactly correct.

Marriage being an essentially religious institution to begin with, the state ever having been involved at all is based on questionable moral grounds.

The idea that a government should have the power to say who is married and who isn’t is the fundamental problem here. Government has no business whatsoever being a third party in the relationship between man and wife.

The Government does indeed have a legitimate interest in marriage, and the people have a legitimate interest in having a government that sanctions marriages.

Apart from that, your position sounds like "Czechoslovakia should just let Hitler have that land because they don't really use it for anything," or some such.

You are trying to appease the HomoNazis. No solution that appeases them will work. It merely contributes to the larger problem later.

APPEASEMENT DOESN'T WORK!!!!!

Well if they treated Lois Lerner the same way, she would now be on death row.

Interesting. So does this mean that Obama can now be jailed for his willful failure to follow the constitution and statutes (he has no religious excuse either)?

Oh she is going to get tons of love letters encouraging her to stay the course. She is most decidedly not alone.

She will be alone in jail. It's easy for us to tell her to stay the course and then go home to our families. Martyrdom is easy when the martyr is someone else.

She was following KY law which declared it illegal. Before you say that the federal law, trumps the state laws....you will have to explain why federal law is ignored for marijuana in favor of state laws.

It seems like these guys just pick and choose which laws they want to enforce.

Yep, she's defying orders by a Federal District Court judge to comply with a ruling by the United States Supreme Court. She's in contempt of court and these are the consequences.

We need to show some courts some consequences for being in contempt of us.

When it comes to choosing sides, the judge has clearly chosen Satan, but let’s not forget the police officers, court officers, and wardens who cooperate with this charade. If they stand for Christ they should refuse to lead this woman away in chains as a matter of conscience and instead stand with her. They have also chosen.

No they don’t. A sheriff is the top law enforcement authority in his county.

SCOTUS decision was lawless. You couldn't be more wrong. This is why we lose: Conservatives who know nothing.

Matthew 5:10-12
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

The KY State House is controlled by Democrats. Who are painfully aware that they only get reelected by acting Conservative.

This situation is Kryptonite to them.

Yep, and we’re one step closer to something very scary.

So can’t the Gov call an emergency session?

The governor told her to do her job and issue marriage licenses so I don't see him all eager to call a special session.

The simplest, most effective, and most conservative solution is to remove the government from marriage. The state can do that on its own and there’s not a damn thing SCOTUS or any other Federal leftists can do about it.

It’s the insistence that government be a party to marriage which is the invitation to mischief.

A marriage is between a man and a woman - not a man, a woman, and a government.

Give up the insistence that the government can tell you if you’re married or not, and the problem solves itself permanently.
