Video obtained by a San Antonio TV station appears to show a man with his hands up fatally shot by deputies, an encounter that authorities say happened after the armed man resisted arrest and nonlethal weapons failed to bring him under control.
Gilbert Flores, 41, died shortly after the shooting Friday, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office said in a statement Monday.
Deputies Greg Vasquez and Robert Sanchez were responding to a domestic disturbance and found a woman with a cut on her head and a baby who appeared injured, according to the statement.
The video, which was shot by a bystander and obtained exclusively by KSAT-TV, shows the deputies encounter with Flores as they attempted to arrest him.

Yes, his hands are up, then the video ends.
I'd like to see what happened next before making a judgement.
I am sure he was given multiple chances to surrender, multiple chances to turn his life around.
One of the hardest things for many people to realize is that there are some people that ain’t worth a dead dog and because they don’t many are killed as a result of their ignorance.
I don’t so much have trouble with that as they they took their chances and made their choice. It’s when innocents die as I result of people decisions to give on going chances to people who have proven beyond a doubt they don’t deserve another that makes me mad. Such people have blood on their hands even if they don’t see it.
Saw the whole video this morning. I have to say, it looks very much like he had both hands in the air for several seconds before one of the deputies shot him from about 8 feet away. The second deputy just sort of strolled up to him after he fell, and didn’t even pull his weapon till another cop car pulled up - he THEN pulled his weapon and started doing the “hyper-vigilant” dance.
IMHO, it looks really bad.
“You resist arrest you are tempting fate.”
“Resisting arrest is not a valid reason for shooting someone.”
Unfortunately, both statements are correct today. The absolutely best thing today is to NEVER have ANY CONTACT with a cop! All lives should matter, but for the cops, only theirs do!
We live in the Obamanation - a land of 24/7 surveillance by video, communications and informants.
The footage exists out there in the data cloud of the whole episode.
Or if it doesn’t, a pre-packaged version will be made available on the Web, designed to enrage and enflame.
Hail Obama.
Yeah. You could fail to turn over your cellphone as a 14 year old 90lb high school girl and the cops will still body slam you to the ground and grind you into the earth with their knees.
We’ve lost all common sense.
When I was a kid "Stop Or I Will Shoot" meant exactly that and everyone knew it and acted accordingly.
How would you capture a man on meth?
If the cop is black,
Hit the road , Jack.
an armed criminal who beat a woman and a baby and resisted arrest is dead. My tear ducts must be clogged because I cant manage any tears for him

Perhaps you are correct, perhaps the police are telling the truth that he was a wife beater and hurt the child but, I have my doubts that it is that simple.
Whatever happened it looked like the bad guy gave up. He was standing still with his hands in the air and got shot dead. While the video we have does not show that as clear as we would like the video the police have shows it even more clearly that the cops erred.
Sometimes cops have a hard job to do, that is not an excuse to make life and death errors. Had the guy been arrested he likely would have received some counseling and perhaps lived happily ever after with the woman and kid, whatever happened it doesn’t look like he committed a capital crime, maybe the cops did. It is sad all the way around. The cops lives are likely ruined and so is the families.
Have they outlawed nightsticks for police officers? Was it after Rodney King?
Because you can control a suspect very well with a nightstick and its non-lethal.
Anybody know?
That doesn’t look good for the cops.
L
There is no way to do it short of killing him?
There must be a reason why the cop moved the body. Probably not a good one either.
Shouldn't you be at the airport spitting on soldiers today?Nah.
It's sunny today so I'm using a magnifying glass to roast bugs. They're quite tasty.
Yep. That’s called “tampering with evidence” and it’s a big no no.
L
Well, you can’t think of one.
From what is shown on the full video, he was indeed shot in cold blood.
