A massive explosion has ripped through a region in China.
Bright flames and black smoke were seen from what is thought to be a chemical factory this evening.
The explosion was seen and heard in the industrial zone of Lijin, Dongying City of Shandong, just before 11.30pm local time.
It is not yet known if there are any injuries or fatalities.
The explosion was reported by the People's Daily newspaper - the Communist Party-owned publication.
No further details have yet been released.
The blast comes just a fortnight after another huge explosion in the country killed dozens and injured hundreds.

Agree, I’ve seen the video’s and they look close to identical.
Correction. The purported video seems to be the problem, not the actual explosion.
You’ve confused me now...
(it’s easy to do)
Sorry, this latest explosion sounds like it did happen, but a spectator video showing the blast has been pulled because it actually showed a blast from a couple of weeks ago instead of today’s blast.
To simplify: it sounds like blast happened today, but today’s video did not show today’s blast. Hope that helps.
It certainly did, thanks.
You’re welcome.
From a poster over at Zero Hedge:
One of the most effective forms of industrial or military sabotage limits itself to damage that can never be thoroughly provenor even proven at allto be anything deliberate. It is like an invisible political movement; perhaps it isnt there at all. If a bomb is wired to a cars ignition, then obviously there is an enemy; if public building or a political headquarters is blown up, then there is a political enemy. But if an accident, or a series of accidents, occurs, if equipment merely fails to function, if it appears faulty, especially in a slow fashion, over a period of natural time, with numerous small failures and misfiringsthen the victim, whether a person or a party or a country, can never marshal itself to defend itself.

One commenter says this is a repost of the Tianjin explosion. Having seen posts of the Tianjin explosion, I agree that it follows a similar sequence—fire, small explosion, and giant explosion. If this is today’s Lijin explosion, then a remarkable similarity. One Youtube I looked at was definitely a repost of Tianjin.
It may be a few more hours before the media find someone who actually had a live picture of the explosion. The Tianjin video was shot apparently by English speakers at a hotel or apartment.

You are scaring me. My daughter and family are on the plane right now to China. He is going to open a Ford plant in Harbin. Istanbul was worrisome, Spain was okay, but China is giving me an ulcer.
I downloaded this video before. That is from Tianjin.
“Is this number 3? If it is it cant be a coincidence. Terrorism?”
Maybe CIA, Bambi is said to be pissed about the Commies Industrial / Military espenaige. Just a wild thought.
Yes. This is getting ridiculous.
Terrorism? Insurance scam? Some new anti-government force?
No way these are not related somehow.
Yea, I’m with you just waiting for more evidence from good sources.
