I think he’s fantastic. He’s my favorite president, hands down, of my lifetime. He’s been awesome this past year. Especially the rapid, one-after-another-after-another-after-another aspect of it. It’s almost like take no prisoners. His he-doesn’t-give-a-shit attitude has just been so cool. Everyone always talks about these lame-duck presidents. I’ve never seen anybody end with this kind of ending. All the people who supported him along the way that questioned this or that and the other? All of their questions are being answered now.

That said - the opening scene in Inglorius Basterds is a classic but that was mostly the acting - just wow
His movies have always been a little uneven but usually worth watching. The Django Unchained had potential to be a classic but the gunfight at the end was just way too drawn out and over the top. I mean when Candie's sister gets shot, you can see the cable yank her out of the room. It was so fake it kind of ruined the movie for me.
Inglourious Basterds also got kind of weird toward the end after such a promising start.
Same with Reservoir Dogs. That scene when the policeman got tied up and tortured was so unnecessary and gratuitous that I had to stop watching at that point.
My favorite movie by him was Jackie Brown. Probably because that bounty hunter guy reminded me of myself.

Interestingly, he still supports the use of film in the first stages of movie production, even though there are very few movie film processing labs left and as such, movie production can be quite expensive using film nowadays. Especially now when you can get a RED Epic digital movie camera that can record 4000-line resolution video at 48 fps for just over US$50,000.
Pulp Fiction is the only thing he has made worth watching. The rest are exercises in a 13 year olds masturbatory fantasies.

Too bad the movie did not quite gel. I thought the scene in the cafe in the cellar was very tense as well. But the movie just got sillier as it went along. And the idea of showing Jews getting revenge on the Nazis was offensive when one considers what really happened to the Jews in WW2. I guess I just didn't get the joke.

Since nothing of the sort happened, I guess I don’t get the joke. The Jews were slaughtered like sheep. They didn’t have squads of Jewish GIs killing Nazis with baseball bats and carving swastikkas into their foreheads, and they didn’t kill all the Nazi leaders by setting fire to a movie theater. I don’t get what was clever about depicting that. There are so many Obama-voting dumbasses in the world now, they probably think it really happened.
It’s an alternate history. A revenge fantasy. That’s all. It’s supposed to be emotionally satisfying, knowing what terrible people the Nazis were.
