"..."By the end of this budget Im in right now, taxes will have been cut $4.7 billion in my state," Walker said in the Aug. 17, 2015 interview.
Last year, we checked a claim from Walker that tax cuts for his first term tallied $2 billion. We rated that True, based on numbers from the nonpartisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau, which is considered the gold standard on state fiscal matters.
Now that some time has passed, and the boasted-about number is $2.7 billion larger, we thought wed do some updated bean counting.
$4.7 billion
We recently dealt with the tax-cut picture under Walker in rating one of his 2014 campaign promises -- return any surplus to taxpayers in the form of tax cuts -- as In the Works...

In an interview with Glenn Beck, Walker said "by the end of this budget I'm in right now, taxes will have been cut $4.7 billion in my state."
That figure holds up, based on numbers from the Legislative Fiscal Bureau.
We rate his claim True

lol! :-P
Walker’s tax cut claims in Wisconsin deemed “true”.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
Go nice on the Walker folks, South. They’re in the same boat we are with this Trump-Idol worship.
Walker’s got a somewhat decent resume. However, touting this at the debate like he did at the last one isn’t going to cut it for the reality tv audience’s short attention span.
If Walker wants this accomplishment to stick and reasonate in voters minds, then he needs to stop ignoring Trump and start calling out the Donald’s attack on him using bogus leftist numbers. If the numbers back it up, then he shouldn’t have a problem doing this.
There’s other issues to potentially tie Walker to the GOPe, but this isn’t one of them and he should be using this more to an advantage.
Walker is the most battle-tested, with the strongest executive-level background of all.
Why should facts matter?
We have the leading candidate for the nomination, causing tingles up FReeper legs because he is a carnival barker and loud. The facts......do not make him seem so good.
So, they will come to Walker threads, where Walker’s RECORD is unassailable as governor....pure conservative....and will try to use Walker’s words against him.
Meanwhile, the leading candidate is nothing but words that change based on the audience he is speaking with.
But these tingly-legged FReepers call Walker GOP-e and Trump “trustworthy”.
Bizarro world is here and now.
All Freepers should be very happy with Scott Walker as President. I just hope Wisconsin has a deep enough bench to replace him if it came to that.
Obama II

So, while bashing folks (and some deserve the bashing) who do you support and contribute to? Do you support FR?
Or, are you still dreaming about "working behind the scenes on some conservatives campaign"?
Just had to ask to help sort you into the proper bin - way too many seem to be in the "derision without adding substance to the goal" camp and can pretty much be ignored. Others actually invest themselves to try to be part of the solution and even if they make mistakes they can be attended to with some sort of respect.
Which bin do you fit into?
Is Gov. Walker proposing actual cuts, or just reductions in the amounts of increased spending?
Seriously, I’d like to know.
Peace.
Unfortunately, there is a faction of people who hate the DBM and the straw man GOPe more than they hate liberals. Trump is playing into that hate and anger and taking a page out of the Rev. Jackson and Sharpton’s playbook. I mistakenly thought that most conservatives were smart enough not to fall for this.
In politics, a time tested adage has been “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”, but in this case it is dead wrong.
We've got 1 1/4 years yet to find out.
We have Rebecca, and she’s more conservative than Walker.
Well the good citizens of WI have reason to celebrate as it appears they will still have Scotty as Governor in 2016. :=)
Walker is solid and proven.
Walker is not a Trump as Walker has never had a REAL JOB.
Supporting his family by working at the Red Cross doesn’t equate to a “real job?”
Walker is also no Trump because he fought through union-thug resistance to bring taxes down drastically lower unemployment and curb the power of public sector unions... all while defeating democrats three times in four year in a blue state. Walker is also no Trump because he’s never sucked up to the Clintons, supported single-payer health care, supported eminent domain abuse, or sought out new trophy wives when bored with his marriage.
The Red Cross wow. It is a job. It is not creating JOBS.
