When Bush blankets the airwaves with ads showing Trump on Greta’s show saying he likes all this Obama stuff, it’s hard to believe that won’t kill Trump’s poll numbers.
Economic protectionism is just as bad as crony capitalism. Novel idea, lets get rid of them both!
Progressive taxation isn’t exactly an “Obama obsession.” It’s the mainstream system we’ve had for a long time. Reagan lowered the rates but didn’t eliminate the graduated levels. So in that sense Trump is a status quo guy, and not a conservative reformer, but on par with Reagan.
Looks like I got you pegged. Either your candidate is Jeb Bush, or it's either Rubio or another who is pro-amnesty or has other problems. IOW, you're a hypocrite supporting the real liberal.
Maybe.. but if Trump keeps pied pipering conservatives away from conservatism and toward Trumpism.. they likely not only wont care but will applaud.
If he is a covert liberal, then he’s no different from almost everyone else in the GOP.
But if he’s a kick ass dude who will build a wall on the border, then great.
You can believe him or not, it’s your choice. Same for everyone else.
You can choose to vote for someone who is at 4% in the polls too. Your choice.
Whatever.
Trump exists because the GOP created a vacuum with their incredible ability to suck.
Take it up with them if he bothers you that much.
Trump in his own words.
I don’t think The Donald is concerned about ideology. He is into the brick and mortar of how things should work. So he will not be spouting much ideology to warm your ears and take your eyes off the game. The game you should worry about is making America work and that can only be done through Capitalism. Do you believe in Capitalism?
I would like to be able to support Cruz, but Cruz just doesnt seem to catching on with people
GO CRUZ GO
I don’t support a candidate who has supported: Auto bailouts? Bank bailouts, the Stimulus package, Government-run healthcare, Progressive taxation and Hands off unfunded liabilities.
Now if you can argue why these positions dont matter then great.. but if not, deflecting to me is a transparent way that you are blind in your support. I assume this is the case.. so Bye.
Of course I believe in capitalism. Trump isnt trumpeting capitalism but protectionism.
Key word is "has" in the past tense. But if you support a candidate who to this day supports amnesty and the continued ransacking of the US Industrial base, then you're a liberal supporting a liberal candidate.
I assume this is the case.. so Bye.
Does the Bush campaign pay you per post, troll?
“Does the Bush campaign pay you per post, troll?”
As much as the Trump campaign pays you per post, troll.
Megyn promotes Trump? You’ve got a different idea of promotion than I do.
They cover him because he’s legitimate news and a draw for ratings, but their coverage is slanted and trying to bring him down.
Though Trump has not promoted a flat tax, he has favored low rates. And, in reality most flat-tax supporters advocate for different types of exemptions that in effect result in different rates for the lowest and highest incomes, too.
The stimulus and auto bailout were bad economic ideas, no doubt. But most of his support for Obama’s initiatives was right at the start of his first term, when he had the approval of three-quarters of the country and it was seen as racist not to be behind him.
The thing about Trump is that he’s been a NYC businessman opining on politics in public, without being a politician, for decades. He’s much too much of a pragmatist rather than a philosophical purist for my tastes. But he also has been an advocate of some pretty conservative principles too. If he comes out with a cost-cutting, economy-boosting economic platform in the details and he sustains his popularity such that he can win, I’ll support him.
The fact is that we don’t have a philosophic purist running and we’ve got a lot of GOPe candidates who aren’t nearly as effective in reaching the electorate as Trump.
This blog post is a one-sided cherry picking of what Trump has said over decades that isn’t economically conservative—it doesn’t provide all that he has said that does represent conservative economic ideals—or the largely conservative positions he has promoted in his books, such as Time to Get Tough.
I’m not backing a candidate that the GOP Establishment wants, and if Trump does, as I suspect, roll out a conservative economic platform, I’m with him.
For example, he is pro-amnesty like all of the GOP (and Democrat) candidates. But there, as I suspect he will with the economy, he has a better plan than the alternatives, which is how I’m anticipating his economic plan will be as well.
If the illegal invasion problem is not stopped and even reversed, nothing else matters. Period.
That’s why Trump won’t ‘fade’.
Then who is the answer.
Your dodging of the question of who you support pretty much implies you’re in favor of amnesty and the status quo of things. You can’t square that with your condemnation of Trump.
All the candidates are wrong on this issue. A wall and mass deportation is not cost efficient or effective. The answer is what Romney alluded to in 2012. Getting the illegals to self-deport. You do this by getting rid of handouts and slapping heavy penalties on companies and private individuals who hire them.
Not really. Most of it pertains to Trump's comments about Obama who has only been in office 6.5 years.
