Can We Trust Trump? (Vanity)
August 27, 2015 | Myself

Posted on 08/27/2015 7:39:54 PM PDT by Crucial

I just have to wonder if Trump can be trusted on any number of fronts. Most importantly can he be trusted to pick one or two Supreme Court justices. Of course, Hillary can't be trusted whatsoever. Trump would be preferable to any Democrat. And I think Walker and Cruz and Carson are men with good intentions but that may be a moot point. I'm just worried that Trump might just go his own way and what anyone else thinks becomes inconsequential due to his dominant personality. The condition of this country is not good and I have no idea what kind of president Trump will be.

But Cruz may be playing the odds - he doesn’t think he can out-Trump Trump, but by not alienating his supporters, he may be the recepient of their support if and when Trump self destructs... and if he doesn’t being VP is not a bad stepping stone to the White House.

How does this compare with Jeremy Bentham who inspired John Stuart Mill. Here is the quote of his major philosophical/governing principle:

“This philosophy of utilitarianism took for its “fundamental axiom”, it is the greatest happiness of the greatest number that is the measure of right and wrong”.[24] Bentham claimed to have borrowed this concept from the writings of Joseph Priestley,[25] although the closest that Priestley in fact came to expressing it was in the form “the good and happiness of the members, that is the majority of the members of any state, is the great standard by which every thing relating to that state must finally be determined”.[26]

The “greatest happiness principle”, or the principle of utility, forms the cornerstone of all Bentham’s thought. By “happiness”, he understood a predominance of “pleasure” over “pain”. He wrote in The Principles of Morals and Legislation:

Nature has placed mankind under the governance of two sovereign masters, pain and pleasure. It is for them alone to point out what we ought to do, as well as to determine what we shall do. On the one hand the standard of right and wrong, on the other the chain of causes and effects, are fastened to their throne. They govern us in all we do, in all we say, in all we think ...[27]”

Just because he has a 30 year track record being untrustworthy and changes his stances all the time doesn’t mean he’s untrustworthy does it?

I don’t completely trust any of them but I trust Trump more than I trust anyone else running. He is a straight shooter, says what he means and means to do what he says.

Why bother us? Why don’t you do some research yourself and make up your own mind. You’re weak and lazy. You’re fired!

I think Cruz is the only one who can be trusted; we know who and what he is. Trump’s all over the place.

If he’s the nominee, I’ll likely vote for him though because my disgust with the GOP is so strong. I really am done with the GOP. Trump would be my way of telling them: Thanks for nothing.

No.

.

Going by his past form in business and in personal life, he is mostly about the show. I don't believe he shares any conservative beliefs that we have. I don't believe he has any leftist beliefs either -- he is just about #1, fully so

That is my opinion

As you can see from my post above, you can see that I don’t trust Trump. But, I’m ready to listen — why do you say you trust him. Please note that I’m not going to attack, rather, I may have missed something, so am looking for your perspective.

Bush is the definition of a soft target.

...........................................................

Bush has name recognition thanks to a father and brother.
Bush is the TOP PICK and really only pick of the Republican Elite and they had already planned for him to win by hook or crook before Trump even got into the game. The Republican establishment changed the rules in the Florida Primary so that WINNER TAKES ALL because they thought it was a shoo in for Bush as former two term governor.....and also backed up Bush with Rubio with an eye to the Hispanics. They will do anything to stop Trump, but so far Trump has out trumped all their high cards. So they are beginning to jump off the bridge or resort to dirty pool. The establishment is having a crise-cardiac over Trump because they cannot control him and that is the name of the game, C O N T R O L !

Most don’t remember that hair cut very popular in the 50’s 60’s. Most remember the flat top, but not the forward brush.

Sshwarzenegger was nothing but a body builder. Trump is a real builder of buildings, businesses, futures for the thousands of people who work or worked for him. Schwartzie built his own wealth, but what did he ever do for anybody else? Personally, never could stand him.

I trust Cruz to govern well. I trust Jeb/Rubio/Christie to keep their word on Amnesty and destroy America. I trust Hillary to continue being a power-hungry crook and a liar. As for Trump. I doubt that he can be trusted, but that’s a far better bet than the democrats and the RINOs.

Cruz is still giving non-answer, answers, or answers that need parsing to understand. Trump has lead the way on telling it like it is, illegal immigration, trade deals, has the GOP and MSM befuddled and has sucked the oxygen out of the room for the rest of the candidates.

Trump is the only candidate on the Republican side in decades, that has not started out by first accepting the new normal. Trump is actually trying to move the center of gravity back a little. If he can do that, he has done this country a great service.
