WDBJ reports that the suspect was a disgruntled employee. When let go, he was escorted out of the building by police. While an employee, he committed a number of outburts and filed the EEOC complaint.

He was a protected class. Of course he’s not going to be prohibited from purchasing a firearm.
The classy lady he murdered probably shunned his disgusting advances.
Based on the information as it trickles in — revenge was the motivation.

I’m assuming he passed the FBI background check and state waiting period.
GM of TV stations “Vester was an unhappy man”, cops had to be called to escort him from the station when he was fired.
He’s being awfully open about the history, which is unusual for anyone who has been indoctrinated by company lawyers/HR in EEOC law. But good for him, he’s being honest instead of dodging. Nobody in the world could have seen any “red flags”, and you do the right thing and have the data to support your decision. I don’t envy him.
Is the guy dead or not? MSNBC has headline saying he has life-threatening injuries. I thought it was reported he was dead.
One wonders if he was fired and escorted from the building how did he get the location where they were filming? Seems like a mighty small window of opportunity unless he was following one or both of them in which case he is even more of a premeditated POS.
