One wonders if he was fired and escorted from the building how did he get the location where they were filming? Seems like a mighty small window of opportunity unless he was following one or both of them in which case he is even more of a premeditated POS.

My guess is that the remote was advertised on the station in advance, maybe the day before to bring in an audience planning a vacation since it is a resort area.
My guess is that he followed the news crew out from the station this morning, not necessarily knowing where they would be filming for the day. He did know their routine afterall.
