A gunman killed a reporter and videographer for a CBS affiliate in Virginia in a shooting that was broadcast live Wednesday morning.
Alison Parker and Adam Ward, a reporter and cameraman for CBS Roanoke affiliate WDBJ-TV, died in the shooting, Parker's mother confirmed to CBS News.
WDBJ-TV reports that deputies from Franklin County and Bedford County were on the scene.
The shooting happened at Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta, Virginia.
“According to CNN it appears they have a license plate number and a name.”
Then the final standoff/shooting will come soon.

Good catch, not a hint of recognition. If he was standing in the background watching, they wouldn’t probably think anything since it likely happens all the time. But if it was an ex out on that balcony at 6:45 am, you’d think they might have seen him even before he pulled the gun. Additionally, a lot of these ex types commit suicide right afterwards. He still looks jihadi to me.
It’s going to be interesting to see what develops here.

I thought that too, but the female reporter continued to scream after the cameraman went down. I've been shot in the gut by a beanbag round, and you're not talking let alone screaming after that. A bullet is likely to cause the same reaction.
That said, I think she flinched in her initial reaction and her arm was down by her waist, but she wasn't covering a GSW. That seems like a normal flinch response.
Roanoke Police spokesman Scott Leamon also said officers had been posted at the other television stations and media outlets around the city.
“It’s just a precaution,” Leamon said.
