Ayoub El Khazzani, the 25-year-old gunman from Morocco who opened fire on a train in France last week, intended to murder everyone on the train as part of a Muslim terrorist attack before being stopped by citizens, revealed French Prosecutor Francois Molins on Tuesday.
El Khazzani, who lived in Spain where he was flagged as a potential jihadist by intelligence services that alerted France about him before the attack, was armed for a massacre, Molins said.
He was toting an AKM assault rifle replete with 270 rounds of ammo, a Luger M80 automatic pistol packed with a full clip, a box-cutter, and a container the size of a standard water bottle full of gasoline, reports CNN.
"According to all of the witness accounts we've gathered...(El Khazzani) wouldn't have hesitated to use all the arms in his possession - assault rifle, pistol and box-cutter - if it wasn't for the remarkable intervention of the passengers," Molins said.

France is starting to get it.
I just finished reading up on it.
Apparently made by FEG in Hungary. That is a very old company who has been turning out handguns since the early 20th century.
I actually once had one. It was pretty well made and finished. Not quite up to the Belgian made ones but not bad either.
I think all the parts are more or less interchangeable with other Brownings.
I’m shocked, I tell you; shocked!
Okay, now give Spencer Stone the Purple Heart.
How did he get all that on the train. Heck I was created by two French Police Babes armed with Uzzis at the Nice Airport.
Figures. Did one of them get stuck on a church steeple? That happens a lot in France when Americans save the day.
a couple of US servicemen on the train

I think that one is active duty Air Force and the other is a National Guardsman. They were joined by their friend, a college student. From what I have read elsewhere, the trio are childhood friends.
God bless these young men.
Hmmm. Never heard of that before but it kinda looks like a “Marinized” BHP. Thanks for the link.
German Cherry bomb?
I don’t think I have seen a real cherry bomb or M-80 since around 1974.
A few years ago, a store in Alabama had what looked like cherry bombs but when I set them off they were about the same power as the lady fingers.
Now Cherry Bombs or M-80s were about the same power and both were frankly powerful enough to be a little dangerous.
Well roll me in bread crumbs and call me veal cutlet.....
You’re welcome. From what I gathered on a couple of gun blogs, it is very much like a BHP, and parts are interchangeable.
That day they served Almighty God, their fellow passengers, The USA, France, and the entire human race.

...
In Obama’s America that would be a hate crime.
France is starting to get it.
...
They were warned but the guy was running loose and arming himself. France still has a ways to go.
Cherry bomb was 1/4 stick of TNT. =;-)
Yeah, I noticed, too, that the details seemed to change a lot. I suspect that it has to do with reporters who are eager to be the first to break a story. Guess they don’t worry about their impact on their credibility, such as it is.
Heartily concur with your closing statement.
Amazing how when facing death one’s focus becomes laser like.
Don’t worry. They’ll enact stricter gun laws any day now.
Fine work solving the crime Inspector Clouseau.
