Trump Turns Attack on Walker
Fox News Channel ^ | 8-23-15

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Sunday turned his attack on rival Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, in his soaring and often unpredictable campaign that has largely targeted frontrunners but spared essentially nobody.

“His state has not performed well,” Trump, the billionaire businessman who now leads in most polls, told ABC’s “This Week.” “We need someone who’s going to make it perform well, this country perform well. … I’m the one to do it.”

Like many political candidates, Trump is spending the early part of the election cycle trying to downgrade the early favorites -- in this case Republican Jeb Bush, a former Florida governor, and Democrat Hillary Clinton, a former secretary of state.

Still, Walker, another early favorite who remains a top-tier contender, was more than willing to block and tackle, telling ABC later in the morning that Trump sounds like a Democrat when attack his record as a two-term governor.

Senator Jeff Sessions embraced Trump at that huge rally in Mobile Alabama....

I guess you missed where Senator Jeff Sessions praised Walker's immigration plan several months ago, before Trump was a moist thought in your head.

But that doesn't matter to Trumpbots. The fact that Trump attacks a full conservative for not raising taxes doesn't matter to Trumpbots either.

It shows how weak your thinking has become.

IIRC it was 30,000 people in Mobile; the City of Mobile verified that.

“I’m surprised how many freepers are fooled by Trump, especially those who usually see through con artists and should know better.”

It’s not unlike the Obamalove phenomenon (or disease?) that swept this country in 2008. As with the worshipping throngs of Obama’s, the Trumpettes will defend even the most inane statement from Trump as some nuanced missive of brilliance.

Well, you need to see the warrior thread last night. The majority agreed with me. Have you ever known a manly man who acts like Trump? Have you ever known a warrior that acts like that? He never shuts his yap and is always talking like a hysterical teenage drama queen. It's embarrassing.

Also, I used to live in that area. I didn't care about Trump, but I've been reading about him since the 80s. Most Trump supporters know nothing about him except what the media has been feeding him. They act like he's some kind of movement conservative, even though there is no evidence.

By the way, this happened before. People in 2011 said I was crazy when I said he wouldn't run that year and I said he wasn't a conservative. They said the exact same stuff you are saying now. Will it happen again in 2019, or will Trump be back to being a Democrat. Who knows, but he won't be president. Somehow all the Trump supporters will fade into the woodwork again and no one will remember supporting him. Even now 2ndDivisionVet claims he supports Cruz, though he spends a lot more time pushing Trump.

At this juncture, while leaning towards Cruz, I am enjoying Trump making the GOPe and the RINOs squirm and sweat.

At this juncture, while finacially supporting only Ted Cruz, I am enjoying Trump making the GOPe and the RINOs squirm and sweat.

Walker is GOPe.

You claim to be a conservative, yet you believe speeches by a man who donated to Democrats more than Republicans while ignoring the TRACK RECORD of a sitting governor who instituted pure conservatism.

Walker is more conservative than Ronald Reagan or any other candidate we have....if you look at his record in Wisconsin.

But, you want to look at his words and parse them into what you want them to say. Meanwhile, Trump loves progressive tax structures and criticizes a governor for not raising taxes and you think he is the greatest conservative to ever run for office.

Wow.

I guess you missed where Senator Jeff Sessions praised Walker's immigration plan several months ago, before Trump was a moist thought in your head.

Was that before or after Walker started weaseling around on the whole 'birthright citizenship' issue? Do you think that was his decision, or the advice of Mrs. George (RINO) Will?

But that doesn't matter to Trumpbots. The fact that Trump attacks a full conservative for not raising taxes doesn't matter to Trumpbots either. It shows how weak your thinking has become.

The ad hominem is strong with you, I can almost hear that voice-through-the-ventilator effect "your powers are weak, old man".

Your problem is not with me, nor with any FReeper, in fact your problem isn't Trump, your problem is that Walker's numbers don't look so good these days, not even in his neighboring state of Iowa.

My sympathies.

“He knows how to win and has a record of success.”

So does Walker, who has won three times in a blue state against the entire democrat party apparatus and union thugs who have issued death threats against him and his family.

I support Trump.
I’ve never said he was “the real conservative” in the race. I support Donald Trump because I believe he’s the candidate most willing to take an aggressive stand on illegal immigration. Nothing else matters. (As Ann Coulter said, I don’t care if he performs abortions in the White House) I’ve become a single issue voter. If we can’t get this problem under control quickly all your other conservative issues will fly away as the Democrats increase their constituancy with millions of illegals.

Meanwhile Nick, would you agree that Trump’s efforts in making the GOPe-RINO axis sweat bullets is a good thing?

Surely we can agree on that (I know, I know, “don’t call you Shirley”).

No, Senator Sessions did not endorse either candidate. He expressed his support for their plans.

But your judgment seems so clouded that you cannot tell the difference.

and actually thinks you’re mentally ill (I thought he was kidding).

Yes, based on what am I mentally ill. Because I stand up to liberals?
Aren't I doing exactly what you claim that you like about Trump? I am standing up! Standing up to the media and I'n not being P.C. about Trump. (Because you Trump people have a strong P.C. code) So if you admire Trump doing it, why don't you admire me? If I am mentally ill, then why isn't Trump. Plus, he does it on TV and changes his position every day.

By the way, I get plenty of freepmails from people who agree with what I say, but I am guessing don't want to put up with the bullying. I have over 30k posts, and 15k threads, so most of what I've said is not about Trump. To e honest, I am totally bored with the Trump topic, but someone has to stick up for our country.

No, Walker is steady and will do fine. He is still strong. Everyone's numbers went down when Trump started selling his snake oil.

I am simply amazed how FReepers can support a man who openly endorses the progressive tax code and criticizes a conservative governor for not raising taxes.

What would you call that?

Look, I will be the first to agree and admire Walker's performance in Wisconsin when it comes to facing down the unions, a corrupt prosecutor and his union wife, and all of the 'RAT-liberal garbage that got slung at him. No argument there.

What I think is the unseen and unspoken issue, is the fact that Scott Walker is the classic "big frog in a little pond", he has made the pond in Wisconsin his own, and it is his to lose, but can he translate that into being a bigger frog in a bigger national pond?

At this point, his numbers suggest 'not yet'.
