To some degree, I agree with that. Problem is, most people would probably tune out if they weren't being entertained in some way. Something "extra" needs to be done in order to keep them listening and paying attention--some sort of a gimmick.
There’s a difference between making it entertaining and treating it as a comedy routine that turned into a hoax.
