FBI Director James Comey is being thrust into the spotlight as the controversy surrounding Hillary Clinton’s personal email server intensifies.
The FBI is investigating the security of Clinton’s email setup, including if classified information was mishandled. The probe is putting the nation’s top law enforcement agency at the center of a political battle leading into the 2016 election.
Comey has long shown an independent streak that's gained him wide bipartisan praise and helped him sail to a 93-1 confirmation vote in the Senate. That independence will be tested with Republican lawmakers demanding answers and the Clinton team dismissive of a controversy they see as politically drummed up.
Comey has been in the middle of bruising fights before.
He's best known in Washington for a dramatic late-night standoff a decade ago with then-White House counsel Alberto Gonzalez over reauthorizing a domestic surveillance program.
Comey was acting attorney general in March 2004 when then-Attorney General John Ashcroft was hospitalized in intensive care. He raced to the hospital bed at George Washington University Hospital after learning that Gonzalez was trying to get a semi-conscious Ashcroft to sign off on reauthorizing the National Security Agency's programs, arriving only moments before the White House lawyer.

Lest we remember the whitehouse leak investigation. Didn’t they start investigating that 3 years ago or so. I don’t think we ever found out who was responsible for the leaks.

And another thing, Hillary knows what happened and when on the ground at Benghazi. If push comes to shove, she will take the lot of them down with her. No way she takes one for the team. She’ll fight like a cornered rat if need be. I think Bill Clinton delivered that message personally to Obama at the golf course today.
Justice is supposed to be blind. Let’s see if Mr Comey and his merry agents are going to investigate this the way they’re supposed to or if they’ll bow to the politicians to protect one of their own. Either way, Hillary ain’t going to prison. She’ll dime out anyone and everyone, if there’s even a scintilla of a chance of that. Some loyal sh*tbrick will fall on the sword for her. Problem with that is, everywhere she tries to turn she causes more questions to be asked.

Exactly. For those who don't remember: James Comey was the driving force behind I. Lewis Libby "investigation" farce and his best buddy Fitzgerald was appointed as Special Prosecutor on his insistence.
One of the [many] biggest mistakes of George W. Bush was the appointment of Comey to the DOJ, as Deputy AG, on the recommendation of Chuck Schumer (who convinced Bush that Comey was "independent" and "straight shooter").

It’s not difficult to see how this will go down. Hillary will plead guilty to mishandling. She will get a slap on the wrist. Quite frankly that’s all that rap would deserve, they will whitewash the facts of what secrets got revealed, what she deliberately revealed, etc.
Won’t happen. Unless they get her on the deliberate revealing of classified she will skate. The reasons are simple: many other people can take the fall for her, and mishandling classified info can be a light charge depending on the amounts. She will not face any serious charges.

Bill Clinton hasn't been in office for a very long time, there are millions of democrat voters, who were not born or were kids when Clinton was President so they are not enamored with his slickness...
Hillary certainly isn't generating any love with the voters like Bill...
I would bet most of the democrat power brokers in DC would like nothing more than to see the Clinton's walk off into the sunset...
