OTTAWA, August 17, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) -- A 26-year-old Mennonite missionary was violently stabbed in the back on Friday by a pro-LGBTQ woman who became aggressive after he shared with her his Christian beliefs regarding homosexuality.
“The confrontation was about the idea of homosexuality…if that’s OK, if that’s acceptable, and whether God loves somebody who is in that state. And we assured her that he does,” said Eric Brubacher, a member of the Mennonite community who was present during the attack, to CTV.
The unnamed victim was rushed to the hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries and then released. The attacker fled the scene of the crime.
The stabbing occurred in the Byward Market area three days prior to the opening of Ottawa’s “Pride Week” where homosexuality is celebrated and promoted openly with parties and a parade.
The Maranatha Conservative Mennonite Church had traveled to Ottawa from Drayton, Ontario for three days of evangelization through singing and handing out Gospel literature. Friday was the community’s first day.
Christians believe that God created marriage to be between a man and woman for the sake of procreating and raising children. Basic tenets of Christianity hold that the sexual act can only rightfully and morally take place within marriage.
Following Scripture and natural law Christianity views homosexual acts as contrary to God’s plan for men and women, marriage, and sexuality. Many Christians believe they are following the Gospel of Jesus Christ when they maintain that they love the person who struggles with same-sex attraction while at the same time holding that engaging in homosexual behaviors and practices are sinful in the eyes of God, dangerous, and unhealthy.
Ottawa Police are looking for the attacker, who is described as white, 22 years of age, of slim build, and sporting blond hair with pink highlights.
An Ottawa Police spokesperson told LifeSiteNews that as of Monday morning the attacker had not yet been apprehended. The investigation is still ongoing.
While the community has already extended forgiveness to the attacker, it is not yet known at this point if the victim will press charges. The community’s pastor was not available for comment.
And for thousands of years this was accepted throughout society.

I am pleasantly surprised; Mennonites have been turning theologically liberal of late, and in Canada I would have expected that to be even more the case. May such persecution arise as a sweet savor to our God, and may He remember this one who stood for Him.
The victim will be charged with inciting violence by the use of hate speech.

There is a very strong satanic spirit in homosexuality and sodomy. This is, among other things, a spiritual battle, not against individuals who are flesh and blood caught in this trap, but against political movements, unconstitutional federal decisions and acts, principalities and powers.

I believe true forgiveness only occurs after the offender sincerely apologizes and requests forgiveness.

I hope this makes no difference to the police. Whether charges are pressed or not, this is not a civil case, but a criminal one, and the attacker must be found and prosecuted.
The media would never dare to report how their so called cuddly, care free, want to be left alone and love are the most intolerant , bigoted, people in the country.
one thing that is not looked at is the history of homosexuality in Greek and roman societies, Homosexuality always involved the brutalization of one person over that of the other. A homosexual relationship was always ok with there leaders in society as long as it consisted of a person of high social standing penetrating some one of low social standing like a slave or a young boy. Someone that was of high social standing would lose social standing or even executed if they allowed themselves to be penetrated. or were the one to do it to some one of higher social standing. I have always looked at homosexuality as one person using his sexuality to dominate another and this is why the church has historically came down on homosexuality....Christians in the roman times were usually those being dominated.
Homosexuallity is demonic possession. I wish nore people would recognise that.

Most homosexuals are mentally unstable and a large percentage of them are prone to violence. Homosexuals are way overrepresented in the long list of serial killers.
They simply are not playing with a full deck.
Well, even without the intellectualizing, sodomy and homosexuality are naturally deviant and abhorrent behaviors and are expressly forbidden in the Bible as an abomination to the Lord.
However, many get the abominable act confused with the person. Jesus died for gays. He loves them and wants them healed and restored. But he hates the acts. Likewise, we have an obligation to love the person, but hate the sin and resist completely the attempts at gay rights and political power.
Having said that, it’s worth reiterating that we are dealing with a very strong and satanic spirit that, given the chance, would love to kill Christians and prohibit the Bible and Christian practice altogether.
