It may depend on where you live. I know of a food bank that is seeing more and more formerly well employed individuals now out of work and can't afford to feed themselves and their families. As one official said, some of their clients once were regular donors to the food bank. Now these donors need help.

Every time I hear unemployment is around 5%, I want to scream.

This paragraph nearly made me smash my computer. Don't you just want to grab people like this (and the author) by the lapels and shake some sense into them?!!?
