Appeals court rules Colorado bakery can’t refuse service to gay couple

The Colorado Court of Appeals ruled Thursday that a dessert shop could not refuse service to a same-sex couple that wanted to order a wedding cake, affirming previous rulings.

The American Civil Liberties Union and its Colorado chapter filed the lawsuit on behalf of David Mullins and Charlie Craig. The two visited Masterpiece Cakeshop in the Denver suburb of Lakewood with Craig’s mother in July 2012 to order a cake for their wedding, when owner Jack Phillips turned them away, citing his religious beliefs. Phillips told the couple that it was his standard business practice. Phillips had said on multiple occasions that he would rather go to jail than make a gay wedding cake.

I like your idea. When they call up on the wedding day, offer to rush right over with a full refund.

other then when you work in government you should have the right to do what ever you want. if I don’t want to sell cole slaw to people that make mad passionate sex with there fish I should be able to say no. If I work in government and having carnal knowledge of a fish is not illegal I cant refuse them a fishing license.

These judges have to be stopped as they are those who wish to make a difference not those who follow the law. Homosexual sodomy violates God’s revealed law. Homosexual sodomy also violates natural law in that the anus is part of the digestive apparatus not sexual apparatus. The mouth is for inspiration and eating/drinking not for sex. Any court or legislature that allows privilege to sodomites is simply legislating NON-LAW. Once sanity is restored, if ever, we can ignore these so called judges and legislatures. Organize against such “judges.”

So, John Roberts was right. How do you feel now, Anthony Kennedy?

Bull!

Post a sign.

“We reserve the right to refuse service to anybody”

“discrimination” my butt!

We discriminate all the time....
Deciding what we’ll eat, where to shop, where to worship, which car to drive, where to live.....

“Make really ugly and bad tasting wedding cakes-and charge a lot for them. No one can make you GOOD at baking certain kinds of cakes.”

“Excellent idea. Forget an ingredient like sugar. They got the cake. Careful what you wish for.”

Remember: it’s not about the cake. They probably wouldn’t eat it anyway. It’s about you being forced to deny your convictions and provide service for them. Why do you think they picked this bakery instead of one run by homos? It’s not about the cake.

When are decent people going to turn the tables on these bullies? Place a catering order (ideally by a “conservative of color”) with a small company run by homosexuals (ideally, by “homosexual rights activists”) for a “defend traditional marriage” function or something similar ... then sue when they refuse to provide the service.

Sign should say Wedding Cakes start at $20,000...but feel free to dicker about the price

"Hey...you baked that heterosexual couple a wedding cake for only $200...what gives?"

"I know, it's terrible, they really talked me down. They must've read 'The Art of the Deal'" ;)

5-4 or 4- 5
My deceased father could tell you exactly He called gore vs Bush to the exact paragraph they ruled on and called it 100% on which would vote and how. All months before the decision. Ice just learned that appellate ruling is often used (not as a final decision) but as a necessary device to get case to top level

Read the opinions given at marriage ruling. There is no doubt nuggets in those pages. I would have had them printed by now if dad was still with me. Haven’t read them because he isn’t.

And when it goes to the enevitable civil rights trial against you, and they want you to raise your hand and take an oath to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth (so help you God?!? YEAH, RIGHT!), state that oathtaking is an affront to your God.

Post a sign.

“We reserve the right to refuse service to anybody”

"Discriminatory" and "Racist" on face value. All signage must be posted en Espanol, Froggy, Tagalog, Farsi, Esperanto, and Braille.

Another popular idea is that you have a policy as a photographer, DJ, caterer, band, florist, balloon artist, clown, erotic dancer, or WHATEVER that you only provide services for weddings that you have been invited to and can attend.

When the RSVP comes, send it back with a checkmark indicating you will not be attending.

What? They are going to FORCE YOU to attend?

Right.

Good luck with that. Involuntary Servitude is bad enough...
