To quote the late great Bob Grant “It’s sick out there and getting sicker”
University of Maryland is the home of Gar Alperovitz, the revisionist pseudo-historian who writes books claiming we dropped atomic bombs on a Japan that had all but surrendered for the sole reason we wanted to intimidate the USSR, and thus we deliberately started the Cold War.
So this pseudo-class comes as no surprise.
The University of Maryland is as leftwing as it gets.
They work hard to keep cars off campus.
The university library system has been converted into a leftwing cesspool where 90% of the new books acquired are rabidly leftwing.
The school has acquired HUGE amounts of land adjoining it
and is a billion dollar leftwing operation.
One of the practical applications will have the students beat their head against the walls of a paddywagon to find out the results.
In theory, this could actually make for a decent class. Teaching a law school class through the lens of a single case can be interesting and enlightening, especially if the case involved a wide range of different legal issues (as the Gray case certainly does). I took one law school class like that, and thought it was great.
In practice, there is really no question that the class will be politically-oriented drivel.
Another waste of OPM.
Sure its full. Its an easy “A”.
The only description necessary is, “live like an outlaw, die like an outlaw.” I hope the suckers enrolled in that law school enjoy their future career which includes the phrase, “paper or plastic?”
That atrocity far exceeds any "wrong," even claimed in the hopelessly biased prosecution over the death of Mr. Grey.
This is just one of the thousands of reasons why schools, colleges and universities should not receive taxpayer dollars.
yes but will they “teach” protest puppet making?
This is no surprise when you realize that colleges are in business to incite the ‘oppressed’ underclass to rise up against the evil ‘oppressors.’
Sounds much too fluffy to be a law school course.
Undergrad, mayne, but not Law school.
Terrific. So now we have “Reality TV” college courses.......
For our liberals friends, colleges course made up out of thin air about nothing just so some student that otherwise could not get a decent grade can now, get a decent grade..........
It should be called, “Freddie Grey, slip and fall for fun and profit”
Then the 1967 Race Riots happened.
300,000 whites left by the next census, and HALF of all remaining whites left EVERY decades for the next 3 decades. NINETY-FIVE PERCENT of the white population from 1950 is no longer there as of the 2010 census. Whites generally don't riot, and don't fight back... but most do walk away once they are made to feel unwelcome... and Detroit has yet to recover. Houses and properties can be purchased for $1, and they have no buyers, because the back taxes are so oppressive that any investment would be unwise.
Baltimore is following the exact same pattern. What do they say about repeatedly doing the same thing and expecting different results?
Clearly, the University of Maryland does not run a top-tier law school.
Meh. Using current events to “sell” a class that would probably be offered under another name anyway.
When I followed the link in the article to the University’s curriculum web-site I got this:
