Were days away from Congress failing to block a deal that will exponentially increase the chances of a nuclear flash over Tel Aviv or New York, and all conservatives could talk about for the past 72 hours was Donald Trumps insult of Megyn Kelly, an insult that caused firebrand pundit Erick Erickson to lapse into Dean of Students mode to ensure that his Red State Gathering was a Safe Space safe from the current GOP frontrunner.
And we wonder why people are deeply alienated from politics? First, lets just tell the truth: Approximately 98 percent of the professional politicians, pundits, and consultants embroiled in the conversation over Trumps comments about Kelly, in which he may or may not have said that her tough questions at Thursdays GOP debate were due to menstruation, are most assuredly not offended or outraged by his words. Quite the opposite: In the political world, there is something like an electric shock of glee that passes through the community when someone says something outrageous. Controversy is energizing. Consultants, candidates, and pundits immediately begin working the angles how can they exploit the latest gaffe, the latest misstatement, the latest offense against decency to advance their candidate or their cause? Outrage is a tool, the means to accomplish the ends of personal and political advancement.
Does anyone seriously think that Erick Erickson a blunt-speaking radio host and pundit last seen urging his supporters to mail fake testicles to John Boehner ... is offended by Trumps statements? (snip)
While the GOP bickers over a journalists reproductive system, the mullahs build their bomb. The weekend is over, its time to get back to business, and business includes stopping the worst international agreement since Munich.

You’re kidding, right? Could you really be that uninformed? Ted Cruz voted NO on the TPP
Wrong. Ted Cruz got into bed with Paul Ryan to help pass TPA. There has been no vote on TPP yet. The kenyan is saving that and other globalist agenda trade treaties to drive a steak in the GOP base during election season.
Really, attacking Trump so stupid for Cruz & Walker supporters. While they focus on Trump, Rubio the snake is laying in the weeds waiting. He’s the GOPe “compromise” candidate and is a far great threat to Cruz/Walker than Trump ever was.
Good post. Spot on.
+!
Don’t be a poltroon. :-)
Good post. Spot on.
+1
Yeah Its a political forum . but this is a Trump thread. and you all raid it and start bashing Trump, and insulting the pro Trump posters. Most threads now are about Trump so deal with it and Trumps 20 point lead 32%
Trump is mainstreaming issues that supposedly Cruz & Walker support. To back stab him right now is moronic. Fake conservative Rubio is laughing all the way to the bank while their supporters attack Trump.
Ted Cruz voted no on the bill. Ignore that if you will but it is a fact.
Really, attacking Trump so stupid for Cruz & Walker supporters.
Earlier in this thread I was accused of bashing him. Now you say I am attacking him. Why, in your mind, is pointing out his liberal past considered an attack? It is his past, and every part of it is true. Have you a problem with vetting a candidate?
This is no defense of liberal Rubio, but there is no more "fake conservative" than lifelong liberal Donald Trump. Many of his supporters in this forum admit he is no conservative. Some go as far as to deny he has ever claimed he was. You can like what he is saying about the issues, but Trump is a liberal, that cannot be denied.
Conservatives don't elect Democrats.
Pretty logical, no?
Crazy days, SOC...crazy days
I don’t think he is a liberal; I think he is a populist — and a Patriot. And that for now is enough. Since Romney was probably acceptable to you, why not Trump?
I have a serious question for you.
Firstly, I have been a member of this forum for over 14 years. I am a staunch conservative and my conservative bona fides have been well-established in this forum and elsewhere. With that said, if I see Trump as being too far left for my liking, why on earth would you believe I would like Romney? You accused me of it, please explain that "logic".
For the record, I support the most conservative candidate in the race, I support Ted Cruz.
Next June, if Senator Cruz is still in the race, I get to vote for him. Until then, I will proudly add my voice to those supporting the man who has put amnesty and Political Correctness on trial. The man who is bitch slapping the media. The man who turned last years crazy man Cruz into a statesman (in the eyes of the LIV). The man taking all the heat Cruz would be taking.
This is taking advantage of conditions on the battlefield. Supporting Trump six months before the first votes are cast is keeping all the right panties in a wad. Go get your knee checked out. It jerks.
Look, I love Cruz too, I really do, I wish he could be president right now. But he is NOT going to win, not at this time. The elites shoved Romney down our throats last time, and this time, it will be Bush. The elites hate Trump and he has no love for them. Get behind Trump now, let him rid us of these corrupt parasites, and we will be able to nominate Cruz or ??? in 8 years. Cruz will still be a young man, and in a much better political climate.
But as of right now, it is Trump and hopefully, big changes, or Bush and politics as usual until this once great nation collapses. Trump is our Hail Mary.
With President Donald Trump Ted Cruz and others like him will have a great political future. You divide your vote among Cruz or whoever of the 14 or so running then you give this thing to Bush, Boehner, McConnell, McCain, Romney, Graham, Rove, et al, and NOTHING changes ever.
Trump or Bush (or Clinton) take your pick. Think, man, think! Donald Trump is a gift from God, a miracle, as last chance. Grab this lifeline. Then we can fix all the issues later that Trump is weak or wrong about. He is right about what needs to be fixed right now! And best of all, the corrupt GOP establishment will be gone. Trump owes them nothing.
You’re feeding the beast and hoping you can keep it controlled and contained. To quote a line from Jurasic Park, you were so preoccupied with whether or not you could, that you didn’t stop to think if you should. You may not be able to contain this monster if it grows too big. The more people are counting on Trump, the less of them will be inspired to donate to Cruz, which will hurt his chances.
Trump also needs to learn that POLITENESS is not the same as political correctness. Politically correct means you’re constantly trying to avoid offending a GROUP of people, an ethnic category of some sort. Being politically incorrect doesn’t give you license to go around picking fights with and insulting individuals, like Trump does. He’s hijacking the idea of political correctness as a flimsy excuse for his boorish, brutish, uncouth behavior.
Amnesty was always an issue in these campaigns. Even in the last primary, it was discussed. And even the standard-bearer of the GOP-e, Romney, had the EXACT same position on immigration Trump does, that he would send everyone home and make them reapply to get back in. So Trump does not get credit for creating this issue in any way, shape or form. It would’ve been discussed in these debates just as it was last time.
Kreskin, is that you?
The first primary is still 5 months away and you're making that call? Excuse me if I don't buy into your prognostications.
Look, I love Cruz too, I really do, I wish he could be president right now. But he is NOT going to win, not at this time.
You don't know that. No one does. But even if it were true, I will always support the most conservative candidate in the primary. That's how primaries work. I will certainly not support one of the most liberal in Donald Trump, that just makes no sense.
You divide your vote among Cruz or whoever of the 14 or so running then you give this thing to Bush, Boehner, McConnell, McCain, Romney, Graham, Rove, et al, and NOTHING changes ever.
I could say the same about you and all others who are supporting the liberal in the race conservative over Ted Cruz.
Trump or Bush (or Clinton) take your pick.
Again, says you. Excuse me for not buying your justification for supporting the liberal Donald Trump.
Now could you please answer the question I posed to you earlier? Why, if I am not willing to support lifelong liberal Donald Trump, would you say I must find Mitt Romney acceptable? Your "logic" is lacking. Please explain.
They told us Romney was the only one who could win the election. I’m not buying the same argument from you on Trump. Cruz fundraising is doing FANTASTIC. Romney outspent his competitors at least 5 to 1 and still lost a lot of primaries. Cruz’ money is so big that Bush can’t outspend him by even 2 to 1.
Cruz could definitely win. Bush is incredibly weak and I honestly think his chances are doomed after he went nowhere in this first debate. When multiple other candidates went up in the polls and Bush stayed flat or went down, it was a devastating result. Especially since he gave as good a performance as he’s capable of and is not likely to be able to do any better next time. His brand name is too poisonous to even the low info GOP voters.
Hillary is also an incredibly weak candidate. This is an election where we can truly write our own ticket. This is no time to settle for the second best of Trump and hope for some far-out strategy of “fixing” him later.
No Democrat will ever be our Hail Mary.
As for Cruz not being able to win...last time around at this stage, it looked like Rick Perry was going to ride a big wave right into the White House.
Wow. I had no idea that posting "Go Trump" by little old me would send T-Rex charging out to eat people. Nobody polls me since I told them I was a black lesbian with a crush on Mitt.
If this election is like all the rest, the nominee will be chosen before the Colorado primary anyway.
Until it is time to vote, enjoy the show. Then vote your conscience. I am not your enemy.
I'm reading Cruz's book, and he describes how Karl Rove told him he didn't have a prayer of winning his Senate race...it was just not possible. Rove also said he would never be able to raise enough money.
Ted just laughed at him.
“Trump is mainstreaming issues that supposedly Cruz & Walker support. To back stab him right now is moronic”
I agree. we wouldn’t be talking illegal immigration if it weren’t for Trump. Also Jeb Bush and Rubio would be leading if it weren’t for Trump
