Businessman Donald Trump remains the leader in the race for the GOP presidential nomination in the wake of the first debate, a new NBC/Survey Monkey poll shows.
Businesswoman Carly Fiorina, widely touted as the winner of the earlier "happy hour" debate of the lower-tiered candidates also got good news. She rose six points up to 8 percent enough to put her in fourth place. If that trend continues in other polls she would earn a spot in the next GOP debate in September between the top 10 candidates.
The poll was conducted during a 24-hour period overnight Friday into Saturday morning while controversy raged over Trump's debate exchanges with Fox News moderator Megyn Kelly and his remarks about her later. That also was coupled with RedState chief Erick Erickson's decision to disinvite Trump to speak to the RedState Gathering on Saturday.

Spin will be that Trump’s support has peaked. Reached his ceiling. Fiorina will be touted as the next big thing. She’s their last hope it seems
The new poll #s showing Kasich leading are in the mail. His dad will bring them he’s a mailman you know
Fiorina up? My, my, how things can change overnight. They might want to recheck those numbers Monday morning after she’s run her mouth all weekend.
Survey Monkey? Seriously????? Have we really lowered ourselves that much?
Very good. Send that to Fox News and they'll hire you as a consultant. LOL
“[Kasich] said the same sex marriage debate is over.”
Just like Ubama said the debate is over on Obummercare. Once the Left secures a victory they announce it can no longer be challenged.
What does this say about Kasich?
LOL I have manboobs and hairy legs they won’t want me
He’s a squishy moderate. He increased medicaid in Ohio. Ohio still has an oppressive income tax and is ranked 17th worst tax hell according to Forbes. He’s done nothing to reduce the size of state government. He’s slightly better than Christie, but only because he would never shut down a bridge to spite another polltician.
She’s a GOPe progressive, hb.
RE: Go, Cruz, GO!!
Dream team: Ted Cruz/Carly Fiorina
Before you anti Carly’s get your panties in a twist. Carly can say things about Hillary that no man can say. And she will.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiick Perry!
(that’s known as the Rick Perry Psyche Out!)
Trump/Cruz 2016
or
Cruz/Trump 2016.
who will drop out first?
Fiorina already squandered her debate bump.
she comes across as a used car sales...person.
a bs artist.
Actually, Trump has more years of experience as CEO than all the rest put together.
He now wants to be CEO of the US. He has a proven track record of winning in a game where there are no fixed rules and the playing field is constantly changing.
Trump is the worst guy ever, until you consider four names, Dole, Bush, McCain, and Romney.
Hes the worst guy ever until you think of two men on capital hill, John Boehner and Mitch McConnell.
Hes the worst guy ever until you think Jeb Bush.
Then theres Rick, Huckabee, some dude named Happy Gilmor, and others.
Hes the least self-controlled person you could imagine, until you think of Beck, Rosie ODonnell, and others who have no self control when they talk about him.
Then theres the media and supposedly Republican entities, who join the left to lie about Trump charging him with something he didnt do.
Theres the nations media that hates him. In fact heres a list of all the others who do.

Yep, everyone is taking the high road but Trump, and with him in power our nation will be at severe risk.
Strangely enough, our nation has been in the control of Democrats and Republicans for the last 150 years.
Hows it doing?
Priebus? Boehner? McConnell? How is it doing?
I look at what the nation looked like in January of 1989, and I can hardly recognize it. Its closer to looking like 1930s Europe or 1916 Russia than 1776 New England.
Priebus, McConnell, Boenher, Dole, Bush, McCain, Romney, what did you do to make it better?
Damn that Trump. Look what hes done to our nation.
