Republicans across the partys wide political spectrum, increasingly worried about the GOPs ability to appeal to women voters, pointedly criticized Donald Trump on Saturday for comments that appeared to suggest Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly questioned him forcefully during Thursdays debate because she was menstruating.
Even in todays rough and tumble politics, where a premium is placed on extreme language and biting discourse, some saw Trumps latest rhetorical fusillade as vaulting past tolerable limits, even for a candidate who says he doesnt have the time or inclination to be politically correct.
Rivals for the Republican presidential nomination and other party figures said he should apologize, or even withdraw from the race.
Erick Erickson, the organizer of a large conservative gathering in Atlanta, canceled Trumps speaking engagement there on Saturday, bringing about a bitter back and forth with Trump. The only woman running for the partys nomination, Carly Fiorina, said she stood by Kelly and wrote pointedly on Twitter: Mr. Trump: There. Is. No Excuse.
Senator Lindsey Graham was even more forceful, saying that Trump was spreading hate speech, and that the very future of conservatism would be at stake if his rhetoric is not forcefully rejected.

We need another ego driven Leftist in the White House?
No thanks.
BTW, if he wants to focus on real issues, then he should STOP attacking/responding to criticism.
This is the first interview where Trump made the reference to blood coming out of her eyes. And in the same interview, he says the same thing about Chris Wallace.
Slightly different. He didnt’t say coming out of his “whatever”. Unfortunately, Trump did get himself in trouble with the “whatever” remark even though I’m positive he did not mean it the way some are accusing him of.
Of course, I realize facts don't exactly matter to you.
He could set up 14 empty chairs for the other candidates
I must say... Yes, yes I do like this idea.
And he should Clint Eastwood (who is a close friend) to moderate.
I am a woman, and as I’ve never in my life have had my period through my eyes, or known a guy like Chris Wallace to do so, I have to conclude that Trump mixed his metaphors.
Furthermore, being a woman, I am exceedingly well acquainted with witch hunts, and I recognize PC as a corrosive, communication destroying, issue obfuscating tactic of people who cannot win an argument on the facts!
We have a bunch of bought and paid for politicians on a very short leash, and then there is Trump in all of his mouthy New Yorker, bad haired glory. Guess who I’m voting for? Some committees proxy, or the real deal?!
You prefer the filter on women’s issues over at “ leading conservative organization” RedState?
That Erick Erickson is pretty suave
/s
Interesting. ..Trump said the same thing about Wallace...blood coming out of his eyes too...
And yet...
The uniparty has perfected using a lie to take down anyone that gets out of line. We either stick with Trump or we get more of the same. Actually we'll be lucky to get more of the same, I think the uniparty has much worse planned for us.
The only reason any reporter is speaking to him at the moment is to ask him about Megyn Kelly, that is the starting position of every interview which he then dutifully turns back to real issues like crime and trade. I think he’s doing well considering he’s dead center in a circular firing squad.
Boston Globe...no need to read any further.
You are nothing but a troll!
I’ve grown weary of your moronic comments on every Trump thread.
how does it feel to be carrying the water for the MSM and GOPe?
Go away Troll!
I wasn’t all that impressed with Trump in the debate, and I was not all that outraged by Megyn Kelly, as I frankly expected such behavior. But At least with his comments, Trump continues to smoke out RINOs like Fiorina. After reading her PC Police comment, I can state: Carly. Is. Unacceptable. Period.
Still defending the “Conservative” in the race, Hen?
LOL. It’s ok. Trump gives you a release. I get it.
As long as he never, ever apologizes he will be fine. We are quickly seeing, it is not the act or the media drum beating that finishes a public figure. It is the apologizing, the going into hiding, the putting your tail between your legs and the lack of fight that ends them. The media is a paper tiger.
He should simply say that it is old news and it is time to move on...instead, he kept engaging. This was the issue.
LOL...
Boy, more “awesome” logic by a Trumper.
Missed ya man. Coming from you, Troll is a compliment.
Now, go back to defending your Leftist candidate :-)
Murdock put out a contract and Kelly was the hit girl. 24 million voters saw the hit on live TV. Trump would have gone up 10 points in the next poll had he SIMPLY KEPT HIS MOUTH SHUT.
Facebook was on fire after the "debate" (ambush) all supporting Trump and he BLEW IT with his big mouth.
Well maybe he can recover, I hope so, but he needs to learn to think before engaging mouth.
Didn't you say that you are a Lindsey Graham supporter.
