It was the most dramatic opening to a presidential debate in recent memoryand Donald Trump stole the show before he'd even said a word.
Perched comfortably at the top of the polls and lapping his closest rivals by double digits, Trump was expected to do well at the first GOP presidential debate of the 2016 season on Thursday night. The onus was on his competitors to seize the spotlight, but none of them managed to change the dynamics in a race that Trump has dominated for more than a month.

He had the most air time by far. Over 11 minutes. Closest was Jeb at 8+. Most had 6.5 or so.
Slanted in his favor.
And there are a million megyn kellys in the media all working to destroy freedom ,America and us because we stand in the way of socialism . Just like we saw them try to destroy trump this is the way all of them work on secretly all day to destroy us. And they control the media. The media is the root cause of every problem we've had
Yes, I made a copy of as many as I could. Those women commenting are sure angry. And the comments I read so far are civil yet extremely critical and to the point. Kelly is in trouble I believe.
For me it was a gaffe that he could not substantiate his assertion about the Mexican government.
He had about twice as much air time as anyone else. 11+ minutes while most had 6.5 minutes.
Remember Brit Hume has Editorial Control.
I wonder what else she does for her boss? It must be good to be the boss.
Kelly has been losing it for a while now. She thinks her rating are about her being smart and cute. She used to be a great interviewer, now all she does is try to show how smart she is. Greta is still a very good interviewer so I watch Greta or CNN's Erin Burnett. I will pass on MK for a while. I wonder what Bill will have to say about all this tomorrow.
Trump managed to steal the spot light again, and he did so with a certain amount of pizzazz. I think he comes out the winner.
More samples that follow the first two above. And these are in order, not pulled out of sequence:
Jodi Hansen-Jennings Megyn, I was a fan, until tonight. Your behavior tonight has validated everything Trump has said about the media.....Well done, you proved him correct on yet another topic! Go Trump!

Linda Daude Shame on you Megyn Kelly, cheap, snarky, nasty and pre-meditated behavior.. It will backfire on you. Your face showed clearly what you were going to do. Fox needs to get rid of you before you bring them down, you have been getting hard to watch before this. Tonight you clearly set out to “get” Mr. Trump, but it did not work.

Nicole Hudson You have become quite “abrasive and haughty” in your approach to people. Your question for Donald Trump demonstrates the rumor that some have been charged to take out Trump tonight ! I now believe the rumor. . . Pride goeth before a fall !

Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos What a disgrace you are Megyn! You come across as unprofessional, vindictive and foolish. You and Chris Wallace need to learn this is a debate for “we the people”, to learn about the candidates, not a cross examination of Donald Trump.. Tell Chris Wallace he gave us the “proof” of what a hack he is. I’ve lost respect for both of you.

Elaine Stewart Shame on Megyn Kelly, Chris Wallace, and Bret Baier. You intentionally pitted the candidates against each other....for ratings....for self glorification. You aren’t looking for honest answers. The first debate was much better and Martha McCallum and Bill Hemmer asked great questions without trying to inflate their own egos! I was afraid this might happen!

Bill Noelle Vander Brink Shame on you Megyn! VERY Unprofessional tonight! Horrible, catty attitude! You should find a new profession. I will never watch your show on Fox again, and I don’t think I’ll be watching Fox much at all after this debate. The way you, Mike and Brett are conducting this debate, and are so clearly against Trump, is TOTALLY biased, and Fox has greatly diminished in credibility in my book.

Steve Hoff Wow I have really misjudged Fox New, in particular you Megan Kelly. What a spiteful line of questioning to Trump, followed by spoon feeding some of the other contestants. I always thought your channel stood for unbiased news reporting. With your pitiful performance tonight I now understand I was wrong in that belief. You and your network should be ashamed.

Michelle Larrivee Masse I have loved you for years, Megyn. But the war on women? Seriously? You’re one of the highest paid anchors on FOX. Get a grip. You disappointed me tonight and became and embarrassment to strong women everywhere. Say goodbye to your ratings.

Sure he does.
Hume also works for Murdoch.
But I do believe the entire lot is in the tank for Bush.
I always thought Megyn has the hots for Marco Rubio.
In thirty seconds? That's not enough time to substantiate anything....
Nor should he need to substantiate the assertion. It's been well known for years -- and reported by Fox and NYT long ago -- that the Mexican government produces and distributes pamphlets with advice on how to safely sneak over the border, how to evade BP, etc.
>>>He had the most air time by far. Over 11 minutes. Closest was Jeb at 8+. Most had 6.5 or so.
Slanted in his favor.<<<
So, I guess you can explain why is Trump is at 40% and Jeb, the second one behind him in time allotted is only at 2%?
2.5 Minutes extra gives Trump 38% more than Bush? Just wow.
Yeah, it was slanted in his favor. LOL
The comments weren’t removed.
They show the first two comments. Go to “view more comments” to see the other 5,000 comments.
And he mentioned after the debate that he didn't think folks would take kindly to his attack on Megyn Kelly.
Really? Trump attacked Kelly?
I used to like her but that question was as bad as Couric trying to destroy Sarah. An obvious hit.
He should have said something similar to what Newt said to Wallace last time around.
Well, she was rather snarky lately .. with a lot of people.
For some reason, she has been turned into an attack dog on the GOP. I used to consider her a very good interviewer; but lately, she has been kind of shoving people around (figuratively speaking). I’ve practically stopped watching her show .. like much of the rest of FOX.
I don’t know how much time each candidate got or how many chances to speak, but I don’t Cruz got equal time at all.
He was I think intentially sidelined because they know he is a seasoned debater. I noticed Fox News rarely covers Cruz and if they do its negative coverage.
I won’t be watching Kelly any longer. Trump looked very Presidential, Christie didn’t. I love the line Rand hit Crisycream with about going to hug Obama.
Carson was very good, I like that non politicians appear themselves and thoughtful.
Huck and Cruz are the best debaters, Rubio came across as a lightweight.
I am tired of all the My father was a bar tender, mine a postman, Trump should have said My Father was a successful millionaire and that made me want to be a 10 billionaire.
Modesty is BS if you a winner. We have a loser in the White House, and his policies show it.
Yes, it was a shameful hit, but it is backfiring.
The sleeziest thing was concocting a “War on Women” issue just to slip in some out of context remarks Trump made on celebrity TV shows. It wasn’t even bringing up an issue that has been on the table during this GOP primary cycle. It was planned by Murdoch and his cronies to drive Trump’s poll numbers down with women, not because it is a substantive topic. And having the female moderator with faux outrage bring it up.
Breaking news Fox: it backfired big time. Most women, especially GOP voting ones, do think Rosie O’Donnell is a slob and they don’t see themselves or that fake eyelash/smile/tits Kelly as victims.
