A prosecutor filed criminal charges on Thursday against Pennsylvania’s attorney general, Kathleen G. Kane, in a convoluted tale of political maneuvering and retribution that threatens the career of an official who, until recently, was seen as one of her state’s rising stars.
Ms. Kane, a Democrat in her first term, has been accused of illegally giving grand jury documents to a newspaper in order to embarrass a critic, and then trying to cover up her actions with false testimony to a different grand jury. The Montgomery County district attorney, Risa V. Ferman, charged the attorney general with counts that include perjury and obstruction of justice. Ms. Ferman also filed a related charge against an aide to Ms. Kane.
“Kane devised a scheme to secretly leak confidential information and secret grand jury items directly to media,” Ms. Ferman, a Republican, said at a news conference in Norristown. And then, before a grand jury, “she lied repeatedly about her own actions, about the law and about other matters.”
Ms. Kane has admitted to leaking material, but insisted that it was not covered by grand jury secrecy requirements. . .

Trouble is, if she goes, the next AG could be a lot worse.

Here's everything you need to know about Kane: she shut down one of her own prosecutors over an investigation, the details of which she leaked to the press, and which she characterized as "racist."
On what basis was it racist? The sting operation offered bribes to Republicans and Democrats. Only Democrats took the bribes. The sting operation offered bribes to white Democrats and black Democrats. Only black Democrats took the bribes. Therefore ... racism.
Kane is scum. She'll fit right into Clinton Admin 2.0.

It is nice to see someone even acknowledging that we are being ruled & intimidated by gangsters.
In my county (Hudson County, NJ) a few years ago they had a sting where probably one or two of the thirty guilty parties were Republicans (in part because it is a heavily Dem county, and in part because Dems are amoral trash), so political party was removed from the news story. The most disgusting thing about it was how small some of the bribes involved were ($5K in some cases - imagine ending a career and/or losing tour freedom over that?). One young (thirty-something) Dem (he might have been Hoboken NJ’s mayor) was taped saying people would still vote for him if he was a criminal (they didn’t).
When I was young my town had the mayor, one or two councilmen, and the police chief all go to prison - and it still a Dem stronghold.
Kane beat ex-Rep. Patrick Murphy in the primary. Murphy was alleging stuffing absentee ballots from the district’s nursing homes. The GOP could have convicted Murphy. Instead, he runs for the commonwealth’s top law-enforcement job.
And he loses to a more corrupt Democrat!
Gotta love it.
