NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Police have confirmed the death of the suspect in an active shooter situation in Antioch at a movie theater. They released his identity Wednesday night.
Police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Vincente David Montano, of Nashville.
Authorities said Montano was arrested in Murfreesboro in 2004 for assault and resisting arrest.
Officials said Montano was known to have psychiatric issues, and he had allegedly been committed four times, twice in 2004 to TriStar Centennial Parthenon Pavilion Mental Health Clinic in Nashville and twice in 2007 to a different facility.

Really perplexing.
When will America figure out it’s not a gun issue it’s a mental health issue. (Many of the medicines that are suppose to make living in society possible are making some patients worse)
On any given day, as you walk around, work, shop, etc....out of the 1,000 people that pass or talk with, there’s probably three people who are mentally on the edge or just plain nuts. So, it’s just an element of luck that you didn’t say something to tick them off or they were slightly on the better side today.
My dad told me years ago from the 1930s that all it took to have some relative or neighbor committed was three folks to show up and recommend someone to the county judge. He’d have the sheriff come out and they’d hold the guy for a couple of days and then send the individual onto a state facility.

Very sad. It may have been suicide by cop.
I worked for over a year as a night attendant at an asylum
back in the 1970’s while I was trying to pay for going to college.
The only thing I learned from the experience was that you should
not spend too much time trying to understand why crazy people
do the things that they do.
Just accept that they are crazy and therefore they do crazy things.
That’s all there is to it, really.
Hubby mumbled, “Suicide by cop,” when they reported it on tv a little while ago. Could be right.
He was earlier said by many in media to be a 51-year-old white man.

[And reports from CNN, etc.]
Thus, these murderous public incidents will continue to happen, even increase, because of the insanity of liberal, bleeding heart mental health experts combined with liberal state and federal legislators.

“(Many of the medicines that are suppose to make living in society possible are making some patients worse)”
Or they stop taking their meds when they are on their own. The solution will eventually be a return to institutionalizing mental patients.
Many are now turned out on the streets and are a large % of our homeless. Police take them to the local hospital. Hospital is suppose to turn them over to behavioral center but instead push them to the end of sidewalk. And the circle repeats again and again
Don’t get me started.
Just hearing the lists of possible side-effects of drugs makes that pretty clear. Too many list "suicidal tendencies".
At least this guy didn't seem intent on taking anyone out with him. Armed with just enough to bring the police in force.
If they are homeless they do not have access to medications.
It does appear possible that’s what it was. Unless he left a note, we may never know.
I had a roommate in Raleigh years ago who worked nights at Dorthea Dix hospital and he said the same thing.
And I think that’s what we had today with this guy.
Trying to understand insane people is like trying to reason with liberals.
Yeah, I don’t know where they came up with the 51 years old. It’s a far cry from 29, isn’t it?
Good advice for the divorced as well.
