Donald Trump: Mexico will pay for wall because I say so ("Let there be a wall, and there was a wall"
CNN ^ | 8/5/2015 | Rebekah Metzler

Donald Trump - who Fox News said literally will be at the center of its GOP primary debate on Thursday - is already feeling the heat from network hosts.

On Tuesday, Fox's Bill O'Reilly grilled the billionaire businessman on his claim that as president he will get Mexico to pay for a wall on the southern U.S. border to help prevent undocumented immigrants from crossing into the United States.

"Bill, they're making a fortune, Mexico is making a fortune off the United States, it's becoming the new China in terms of trade -- they're killing us at the border," Trump said after O'Reilly pressed him twice on the same question.

The third time O'Reilly asked, Trump said, "I'm gonna say, 'Mexico, this is not going to continue, you're going to pay for that wall,' and they will pay for the wall. ..."

Well right now Trump is 'negotiating' with the primary voters....and he'd better come up with a more specific plan than 'something terrific'.

He already has (click on pic to read description and reviews)...

I never said it, link it or you’re a liar.

We don't have much of an illegal immigration problem from the other NAFTA members, Canada, Chile, etc.

You are aware it's the North American Free Trade Agreement? Last time I checked Chile was in South America.

Oh, and you threw Palin in there, too. I forgot about that.

It’s right there in your posting history, troll. Own your stupidity if you have half a gonad.

We’ll see how long you last.

Of course there are. They tend to be working class, more socially conservative and economically moderate, not especially highly educated, prone not to vote at all if a candidate doesn’t inspire them, and winnable for the right kind of Republican.

Take a look at the internals of the polls coming out—Trump’s support is across the board, including heavily into independent and moderately into Democrat territory.

As you said, I’ve been here less than a month and you’ve had over a half hour to produce a link. A blind crack ho could have searched my few posts in three minutes.

Liars get cancer.

Canadian truckers currently deliver into the US and have a number of days before they have to go back home.

I have seen many Canadian drivers deliver their original loads then haul loads in the US for 3 weeks before going home.
The US loads often pay better and fuel costs are *much* lower here.
They laugh all the way to the bank.

Politicians and the COC have been trying to get the same deal for Mexican drivers.

Problems are, most Mexican trucks don’t make the grade to run on American roads.
In the years since NAFTA was signed, only a couple of Mexican companies have qualified for limited operation in the US, and they had to buy all new equipment.

Most Mexican transportation companies have no idea of safe food handling.
I delivered butter to El Paso for transport to Mexico City.
I had to wait for the Mexican truck as the warehouse had no refrigerated storage.
When the Mexican truck got there they unloaded the butter directly onto his truck. He was pulling a dry van, no refrigeration.
45,000 pounds of butter going to Mexico City in July in a hot truck.
When I called the shipper to alert them, I found out it was a common occurrence.

Extremely few Mexican drivers know enough English to navigate by US road signage.
Mexican drivers are not trained as much as the newest American drivers.
Imagine Death Race on an industrial scale.

The only reason we don’t see American highways choked with Mexican death traps is because American trucking companies have been very vocal in opposition.

But... but... but he talks tough! That’s more important than substance!

I used to think that the GOPe was a sign of how sick my party is. But the fact that Trump is pulling any primary voters at all, much less is in the lead, shows me the desperate straits of our movement. A functional conservative movement would have kicked him to the curb long ago.

You win on a technicality. Effective January 1, 2004, the Chile-United States Free Trade Agreement treats Chilean trade as if they were part of NAFTA and both Canada and Mexico agreed to this.

But they are technically not part of NAFTA any more than 25% of Mexico's population is not technically present in the United States.

As a matter of fact, our company exports to Chile with NAFTA paperwork.

Here’s an idea — how much foreign aid does Mexico receive from the USA? We can use that money to pay for the Wall and tell Mexico, “There — you paid for it.”

This works...

Wow Rooster! That is one heck of a graphic. And, ov, that is one heck of a story on the butter load. As you probably know, upper middle class Mexicans LOVE American dairy products because of our higher sanitation standards. I've seen their tourists at places like Cosco in San Diego fill full SUV sized cars.

I'm curious that your destination for the butter seemed so nonchalant about it. Aren't we talking 12 hours on the road from El Paso to Mexico City? Or less than that?

I know there are insulation blankets/packs which can delay the melt. Did you use anything like that? We used to use them when importing chocolate from the United States and Europe to Japan. But these were container vessels mostly in the late summer and fall, nothing comparable to truck temperatures in Mexico in July.
