Trump: What You Don't See Is What You Will Get
The American Thinker ^ | August 5, 2016 | Gene Schwimmer

Posted on 08/05/2015 12:02:43 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

".......This writer will not attempt to dissuade the Trump-o-philes from their ardor. If one’s idea of a Joe-Six-pack-cares-about-guys-like-me-populist is an arrogant brat in grownup clothing, who pulled himself up by the multimillion-dollar bootstraps he received and ultimately inherited from his daddy, a guy who builds luxury apartments that, one suspects, few of his supporters could ever dream of affording, then, by all means, vote for the guy.

What this writer can do is show Trump’s supporters – and make it impossible for them to say, should this life-imitates-Elmer-Gantry snake oil salesman become president, that they didn’t know – what they, and the United States of America, would be getting.

First and most important, Donald Trump is not a Republican. Nor is he a Democrat. Donald Trump is a businessman and an opportunist. And would be, if his supporters get their way, the first Republican president who, at least as of April 26, 2011, has given most of his financial support to Democrats:

The real estate mogul and “Celebrity Apprentice” host has made more than $1.3 million in donations over the years to candidates nationwide, with 54 percent of the money going to Democrats, according to a Washington Post analysis of state and federal disclosure records.

Does that sound like someone committed to Republican values, let alone conservatives values? Not exactly the Koch Brothers, especially when one looks at just who some of these recipients of Trump largess were, such stalwart Republicans as:

Harry Reid
Rahm Rmanuel
John F. Kerry
Charlie Rangel
Chuck Schumer
Teddy Kennedy
Hillary Clinton.

Hillary Clinton? Well, one hopes that he will refrain from contributing to Clinton 2016 if and when he finds himself running against her. On the other hand, don’t assume that he won’t. Could be bad for business, post-election, if Hillary wins...................."

How can a distinction be made during the general election between Hillary and Trump?

Oh great - another bash Trump article. That does it - I’m convinced. I’m now supporting Christie and Graham - my dream team. Go Christie - Go Graham!/s The OP is playing a junior high game - talk and spread negatives about those you don’t like, and by golly, then they will support who I like. How sad!

What about Trump’s history?

Pointing out someone’s history of supporting non conservative positions and supporting liberals is now considered bashing?

I read it. Trump reminds me of a younger version of the REagan we got. I’m voting for hard for him. Would love to see the ticket, Trump/Cruz or Trump/Fiorina or even Trump/Rubio, or even Trump/Carson

It’s a junior high school game. Keep spreading negatives, and by golly, everyone will jump on the Walker bus. This seems to be the OPs motive. As for me - Go Christie - Go Graham. /s

There is no support for them on FR.

Just so you know about debt:

GOP gubernatorial candidate Scott Walker says he has given back more than $370,000 of his salary to Milwaukee County

You aren’t getting it. We hate the Communist Democrats. We hate the traitor GOPe. Both are mortal enemies. To hell with both. The GOPe has screwed us for the last time. Trump is the best bet to make America great again. All of the Repussycans, expect for Cruz and Trump, can go to hell.

I’m usually in agreement with everything you post. Why the Trump bashing so early? He’s the only one out there who can turns things around by uniting the entire country.

I want for a change a businessman in the white house running the place like a business.

At this point, NO candidate who has to rely on funding from “donors” is trustworthy. With rare exception, they cave on various things...most of them to that Tammany Hall descendant asshole Donohue and his fellow travelers.

Trump may be the last not “bought and paid for” candidate that you ever get a chance to vote for.

So decide: Are you willing to take a chance that he loves the country and really believes what he says?

Because of his wealth, he has been able to see how these political cretins operate on a first-hand basis. If you haven’t noticed, he is burning bridges in a spectacular fashion by (quite accurately) calling nearly all of them stupid, ridiculous, evil and every other manner of insult.

It might just be that he’s dealt with it for years and has decided that he’s old enough and rich enough now to “tell all.” He has seemingly allied himself with Cruz and Palin, both of whom are of a similar bent. The funny thing is that everyone is waiting for new scandals to come out....but Trump has been a public entity for years.

I could be that it is HE who has an amazing array of stories that he could tell about our pathetic & craven political & media class....wonder how many of these guys have stayed/held events at his properties over the years...lol! This might be highly entertaining...pass the popcorn.

Yeah. YAWN. The “54 percent of political contributions went to (GASP) demoncrats” horse has been beaten to death. The horse has expired, is rotting out in the field, and is still being beaten.

We get that you don’t like DT. That’s fine. You might be proven right in the end. But could you please find some new material?

I can see the spit and foam coming out of the mouth of the writer of this, demanding that we believe and take action on his version of who Trump is.

I continue to look for an even handed assessment of candidate Donald Trump. Adult supervision has arrived for our country's leaders.
